Use the Protech Chlorine Shock to ZAP organic pollutants bacteria, and algae. This quick dissolving shock does not require pre-mixing, and will not cloud the water. The PROtech Chlorine Shock is most effective when used on a weekly basis to eliminate bacteria, organic buildup and control algae. Added this to my pool as directed on the package, and after about an hour the water looked green, like it had slime in it! Did some research and found out that's because of the iron and other heavy metals in our water. Added soda ash and water cleared up within 24 hrs.
