After a few labels, it did stop working and not embossing at all. I had lost hope and about to throw it away but thought I'll check Youtube for any fixes. Through an helpful video I learnt that the arrows in the label maker dial need to match in order for it to work. There are two dials, top one with characters and numbers and bottom one, which need to be aligned. After realigning the top and bottom dial arrows and making sure they are aligned when i use the dial for letters and numbers, it was working again. When the label gets cut, it does twist and leaves a small jam mark on the next label. Something to be aware of when using it.
Used it for labelling oil bottles, pantry, and mailbox names so far. It came with Black, Red and Blue tapes which emboss the labels in White font characters.
Overall, good for the price. Its cheap plastic so as long as you handle it with care, it should work as expected. Make sure the arrows align and you are good to go.
