From the brand
How we got our start?Life was good at my day job, but I was always striving for more. In 2003, I finally left a thriving career in technology to become the founder and CEO of INI, LLC. Over the years, INI evolved from a happy hour between family and friends, to a company that offers more than 65 products sold worldwide.
What makes our product unique?INI is built on the philosophy that games serve multiple purposes – entertainment, education, escape and more. In a world where myriad technologies enable communication without personal engagement, old-fashioned games with a modern sensibility can bring people together as no other innovation can.
Why we love what we do?Passion for me and love, are inextricably linked, as they share a mutual bond. My favorite activity is to spend time with my family — the people I love. My second favorite thing to do is pursue my passions of creating and inventing, which have the end-goal of providing benefit for others.
DABBLE was invented by George Weiss at age 84 years of age - pictured above.
George may just be the oldest board game developer in America. Since receiving his first patent in 1958, George spent more than 50 years tinkering away at his ideas. For decades, he would fiddle in his basement following his passion in hopes of seeing one of his inventions take off.
In George’s basement, you will find hundreds of rejection letters and patent applications, but he never gave up....
It wasn’t until 2009, when he met Jay Vohra from INI, LLC and landed his first deal with DABBLE – and a DABBLE App.
George has since passed away, but his legacy and hard work still lives on!
Thank you George :)

Game Pieces: The game pieces are very cheap. The stands are very difficult to put together and take apart. The piece that slides into the platform to make it stand upright seems to be too big for the slot. Unfortunately, you can't use the tile platform with out the stand piece and you can't store the platform in the game box with the stand attached. I'm going to try to sand it down for a easier fit, hope it works. The letter tiles are see through. The game play includes placing all the tiles face down on the table and drawing random tiles. Unfortunately, with them being see through, the drawing process is not so random. Had they provided a grab bag this would have eliminated this problem. I am planing to make or purchase a grab bag. I was pleasantly surprised to find additional tiles for Spanish play. Bonus points to whoever made that decision.
Game Play: It is a fun game to play, however, I don't think the timer gives you enough time to do anything. Perhaps after playing this many times you can focus on timed play but as beginners it didn't allow for much game playing to take place. We altered the game to exclude the timer. The first person to get all five words ends the round and gets a bonus. All the other players must stop at that point and everyone counts up their tile points. No score card was provided so we just played single rounds rather than adding up all the points from the multiple rounds.
Despite all the flaws we will still play this game, however, if I were to do it again, I would not purchase this game for more than $15. You can basically play this game using your own scrabble tiles. If the manufacturer fixes the issues I listed above, then you'd have a decent game worth the $25 they're selling it for.
The bad part are the tile stands. They have a plastic piece that slides into the back. Once its in though, it's not coming out which means they're not going back into the box ever again. Another weird thing is the box. The lid is incredibly difficult to remove! I had to put a hole in the middle to allow air to flow in order to open it at all! Kids have an especially tough time with it still. I like the game and would buy more though.
I love the fact that the game comes with Spanish alphabet letters also.
There was nothing wrong with the pieces, it was with every penny ! I want to get another one just in case we want have more than 4 players.
