A good read with steamy scenes but I was a bit disappointed that it glossed over some serious issues and the main one that bothered me was not mentioning the name of someone that Rachel lost, which should have been huge since it was the main reason she was depressed, it was mentioned what happened and then everything was sunshine and roses. Not only that but some other issues that should have had serious discussion between them to make the connection stronger, once again was glossed over like it didn’t matter when it was such a huge thing in their pasts. I had a hard time connecting with the characters because of this since there were no heartfelt discussions between them, breaking down their barriers and getting to the heart of the matter...literally. Also the synopsis was a bit misleading as there was no mention of other women or James hooking up with anyone before Rachel but I actually liked that he wasn’t what the description stated he was.
I did enjoy Nell who was sweet and funny and how Rachel’s best friend stood by her during her dark times.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
James was a sensitive single dad still mourning the loss of his beloved wife and mother of his five year old Sadie. He was out of his comfort zone most times, trying to navigate between his business and his time with Nell (who was a totally adorable addition to this story).
I loved the way his growing affection starts to heal Rachel, as she starts to trust him with herself and pours her love into Nell.
I really would have given this a five star rating because the author touched on many real life situations and emotions. I think I needed to have a little more depth to the characters and the way they worked out their issues. It just skimmed the surface, especially when the topics were pretty deep (loss of loved ones, dealing with severe depression, bullying, and betrayal)
Still, it was a very sweet and sexy read with a tidy ending. No cheating, no cliffys, and lots and lots of "feel good" moments!!

James is the owner of an art gallery and a widow. He has a 5 year old daughter Nell, and his nanny of 3 year suddenly left when she had a death in her family. He has no choice but to take Nellbro work. His secretary was incompetent and lazy so he fired her. Now he has no one to watch his daughter and his gallery. Rachel lost her 1 year old daughter and husband and has been severely depressed. Her friend advice her to look for work so that she can gradually build her life back. She saw a help wanted sign at an art gallery and applied. She was hard working and when James brought Nell to work one day, she instantly fell in love with her. James watched how Rachel interacted with his daughter and he was speechless. He knew that Rachel was beautiful but his attraction towards her get worse after witnessing their interaction. They started seeing each other and then when Rachel gave Nell an advice, James went through the roof. Will these two broken soul be able to find their happily ever after.
