Greg Wright had an epiphany one day when it came to his daughters: Don't screw up. A simple concept, but one that requires years to work on. So he began thinking about how he would be as successful of a father as he could be, which led him to start taking his daughters on a date. Because of this, he has developed a relationship with each of his daughters and has a better, truer understanding of who his girls are, what they fear, what they aspire to be, and that their father can be their go to guy, no matter what.
Being the father of two girls with a third child on the way, I can now understand and appreciate what I was being told years ago. Through the last nine years, especially during the last five, the wisdom of such an act began growing in my mind. I want my daughters to learn from my mistakes and have a level head, and Wright provides great insight and tools that can help fathers relate to their daughters. This is the kind of relationship every father should work towards having with each of his children.Read more ›
I really didn't know what to expect from this book, but was genuinely delighted. It made me laugh from the very first sentence and I thought "wow" here's a man who's not afraid to put it out there and just laugh at himself and his "manisms."
I think Greg Wright did a wonderful job creating this book. By using humor and an awful lot of common sense, this dad could really help out alot of men out there to finally begin to understand the women in their lives.
I would highly recommend this book to any dad raising daughters or just about to any man who wants to really know the woman in his life.
This book was provided to me by the good people at Booksneeze for my honest review.
I have read a dozen or two books about marriage, but have never found a book this helpful.
And the most surprising thing of all is that it was not necessarily written to help men understand women. It was just written to help dads connect with their daughters. But the tips, suggestions, and ideas that the author gives will help us better understand the women that are in our lives.
This book is one of the best books I have ever read on the subject of women. Even if you don't have daughters, this book will help you understand your wife.
Greg Wright realized one day that he knew next to nothing about his daughters, and so set out to learn as much about them as he could. But he didn't know where to start. So he decided to start where all of us guys start when we want to get to know a woman - by dating! He starting taking his daughters on dates, and in the process, learned more about his daughters than any man thinks is possible!
This great little book is a quick read, and is full of humor (great for us guys), and is chock-full of ideas of how to date your daughters, what to avoid, topics to discuss, and even has a list to get us started of the "Top 15 Daddy Dates."
Oh, and most of the ideas and suggestions in this book work well for wives as well.
The bottom line, men, is that we will never get to know the women in our lives by sitting on our couch and watching another game of football... even if the women like to watch football with us!Read more ›
