I love Seth King. He's an absolutely phenomenal writer. He can tell a story that can't be rivaled, and he does so with every damn book he writes.
That said, I had no idea what to expect with his latest book, Daddy Issues.
I knew I would like it. I mean, of course, I would.
But I had no idea how much I would like it.
Do NOT go into this book expecting just another good "Daddy" story like I did.
That is not what you'll find.
Don't go into it thinking you'll find a good "Daddy kink" book like I first thought.
Instead, you will find an amazingly well-written story about 2 men and the reunion at which they fall in love. Their love is strong, fun and very much worth every single second you will spend reading this book.
This is a story about a man falling in love with his former step-son.
The catch is - they never lived together and they never really spent any time together while they were related.
They are actually just acquaintances who know a lot of the same people.
But they have to deal with the issue of still having a relationship that in name is very taboo.
Along the way, you will laugh (a lot), smile, get frustrated, and be heart-broken.
And you won't regret one moment of that journey.
In fact, I think I might just have to re-read it very soon!
Daddy Issues is a May/December book that is so much more than that. It’s heart, it’s humor, it’s enough sexual tension to drive me insane, and it’s emotion that Seth King has proven famous for.
Let’s be real here, I wanted to read this book because Seth King wrote it. It was only an added bonus that it had one of the more intriguing premises I’ve seen in a while.
Eliot and Robert were once upon a time related. As in Robert was married to Eliot’s mother ten years ago, though married is a very strong word for what the two of them had. Now the two men find themselves thrown together and just itching to touch one another.
Personally I don’t think any other author but Seth King could have written this book. This book is good. Really good. I couldn’t stop reading. It’s written in Seth’s distinctive and unique style of writing. The way the story unfolds it wouldn’t be the same if any other author had written it.
Eliot and Robert have such chemistry. Their passion and the sexual tension is off the charts hot. And while there is insta-lust it’s a slow burn. They don’t have sex until they get to know each other and build a relationship and to me that is the most important thing to them. Anything less and the connection between them wouldn’t have been the same.
I cried a little bit Seth King almost got hate mail from me because I was terrified. But he’s an evil genius. One who made me feel while I was reading one of this hottest books. Because in every single book there's a line or two, that resonates deep inside of me. I really need to stop pretending I have any idea of what this man is going to bring.
If you love May/December books, if you love movies like Clueless, and if you’re looking for something that his hot and witty then pick up this latest from Seth King. I knew it was going to be good
This book has already risen to the top,yes #1, of book sales around the 🌎. You will be happy to join with all of us in enjoying it. I laughed, I cried, I got mad at people on the page. It's the real deal. Don't stop reading near the end ,FINISH IT. Trust me. You won't be sorry❕❕
" Love is love, no matter who you're loving, no matter the skin they come in"
Robert and Eliot have a history, but nothing like you think. Robert was, for 2 short years, Eliot's step father. But its been many many years and they come together when tragedy hits Eliot's family. When they see each other for the first time in forever sparks fly. Can Eliot get past the fact that Robert was married to his mom, before Robert figured out his true self, but had no interaction in raising him?
Daddy Issues is so much more than what the title implies. Once I started there was no stopping. This is a must read.
