I saw this book on Ellen and she talked about it like it was this huge joke. So I ordered it and was going to give it to my sister. But then when I got it and read it, I thought it was the saddest thing I've ever read.

Too Far

The book started out fine 2 boys dealing with the emotional damage done to them by their fathers imprisonment. How they coped with all of their new "uncles", however temporary they may be. Not to mention the schoolyard teasing, the soul crushing emptiness that is their new lives.The hope of a permanent uncle or an early parole. Let me tell you that when they described the smuggling of certain objects in certain cavities for weekly family visits, that just goes too far. No one needs the details of both the ins and outs of that business, especially when it involves ones that young.

My dad was in prison and this book helped me make it through the 8 years he was locked up. I love it so much, i'm going to get married and have a kid and then do something to get 4-6 in the pen and right before I start my time, present this book to my wife and child so that they can truly enjoy it as I did.

Only partially helps out

Many of the subjects in this book were only lightly touched on. The more in depth areas weren't as helpful. For example, a whole chapter on "why daddy sounds so much different when he passes gas" and very little on "The dishwasher always breaks after dinner, so the repairman comes by three nights a week." All in all a basic book for the youngster who will soon be wetting his bed again.

Funniest book ever written

This book is supposed to be serious. But it is so poorly produced and badly written that it comes off as a humor book. I love it. I plan to buy many more copies and send them to friends.
