The T'REX TANK is an all-metal tank chassis designed for all-terrain robot projects. All six lower wheels have independent suspension to help improve traction and absorb shock. High ground clearance allows the T'REX to handle very rough terrain. The body is aluminum, the gears, tracks, suspension struts and wheels are die cast zinc. These metals offer good corrosion resistance so no maintenance for these parts is required.
The idler wheels can be easily removed for cleaning by removing the circlip on the shaft. Be careful when removing these as they are under spring tension and may shoot off. The idler wheels have brass bushes that require minimum maintenance. A dry lubricant should be used for the idler wheels and gearbox. Batteries not included.
Note: The chassis requires assembly and controllers (for motors or driving).
The T'REX motors are 12V and work best from a 3S LiPo 5000mAh or better. Each motor has a stall current of 11A so you need a beefy motor controller. The chassis has mounting holes for either a Wild Thumper controller or the new T'REX robot controller.

was fun for about 2 hrs of use in my house. I noticed a screw coming loose so I popped the top to check it over again and add locktight. that is when I saw both gear boxes were sloppy as heck. the gears are fine but where the flange bearings should be are BRASS inserts, not oil infused copper flanges or even bearings. the gears are pressed onto the shaft so it spins in that brass hole, all the lube in the world will not prevent it from wearing out in a few hours. The claim of die cast zinc tracks also cant be true, there is a copper color starting to show where the tracks have scratches.. the drive wheel slips out of sync and just spins in place a lot on both sides and it will only get worse in time as after such little use there is some play in the track and I had to slide 5-6 pins back into the track. All that being said I do want to note that I am not a novice and I did use ample dry graphite spray lube on all moving parts before any use and adjusted my remote to ensure no more than 5 amp per motor was applied. I haven't given up completely, I ordered a drivetrain more suited to the unit and will modify where needed.
