I would be lying if I said I didn't buy the book base on the cover shot. Until now I have only heard of Daido's work and seen only some of his more famous shots in exhibitions in Japan and here at home here in Malaysia. So I decided to buy a few books of his work to see what he is really about.
This book has a good selection of his work and each goes along with captions that describes what was the story behind it to a limited agree. It certainly helps the reader understand the mind of Moriyama and how he had perceived the world.
It should be noted that this is a small coffee table book, so small I figured it would have been one of those big table top coffee books. It makes taking it along with you on long commutes or coffee breaks relaxing. Just be careful about showing the cover, I already got into trouble once as people thought it was a porn book (I live in Malaysia)
