- 52 Weeks, 365 days―Connect more deeply by focusing on a single saint (or a pair of saints) every week, with seven daily readings about their lives and legacy.
- Thoughtful lessons―Discover lessons, exercises, and practices guided by the week’s saint, showing you how to apply their timeless wisdom to your modern life.
- 55+ Canonized saints―Delve into the stories of St. Patrick, St. Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin, St. Teresa of Ávila, St. Peter & St. Paul, St. Josephine Bakhita, and many more.

Others observed in amazement Teresa’s constant joy, courage, humility, and gentleness even as she was slandered, reviled, and accused. Teresa’s path to sainthood was a path of trust in the mercy of Jesus through many trials. Pray this prayer of hers, today and often: “Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All things are passing away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Whoever has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices.” |
The Guadalupe apparitions lasted for just four days out of Juan Diego’s whole life. Most of his life was simple, humble, and, at least during his later years, prayerful. How can your life be more simple, humble, and prayerful? Juan Diego was persistent in following the will of God as told to him by Mary. Persevere. Keep moving forward. Don’t let little failures distract you from the goal. |
Reflect on Patrick’s words from his Confessions: “The faith grew in me, and the spirit was roused, so that, in a single day, I have said as many as a hundred prayers, and in the night nearly the same, so that whilst in the woods and on the mountain, even before the dawn, I was roused to prayer and felt no hurt from it, whether there was snow or ice or rain . . . because the spirit was then fervent within me.” |
Editorial Reviews
Review
“Fr. Higginbotham’s book must be added to your personal library! Following the liturgical rhythm of the church, he shares the beautiful lives of the saints in a relatable way that inspires and gives hope. His theologically rich meditations draw us into the hearts of these saints, and his concrete action points help us to more realistically emulate their lives. Through this book, we become friends with the saints and ultimately, more faithful followers of Christ.” ―Fr. Stephen Gadberry
“Wonderfully practical, educational, and spiritually nourishing, Daily Lessons from the Saints is an excellent devotional for young and old alike. Filled with stories of and insights from some of the church’s greatest Saints, prepare to make many new heavenly companions as you journey through the year with St. Josephine Bakhita, St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Maria Goretti, and many more!” ―Jordan Haddad, Ph.D. (cand.), Director of Lay Ministry Programs and Lay Formation, Notre Dame Seminary
“In Daily Lessons from the Saints, Fr. Brice gives an easy to follow, spiritually rich, and practically insightful introduction to the teaching and examples of a number of the saints that are found in the Catholic Church’s tradition. This book serves as a catalyst of growth for everyone, from the most advanced and educated Catholic to anyone who desires to grow in their knowledge of the saints to anyone looking for an aid in their growth in personal holiness. This book is truly a gift to the faithful and serves as an aid for anyone desiring to grow closer to the saints and the Lord.” ―Rev. John David Matherne, Pastor of St. Hilary in Mathews, Diocesan Vocations Director
