I loved Devin and Kylie!! There were moments I wanted to shake her because she really was almost taking advantage of him but honestly it was crappy on both their parts. He should have told her how he felt. And she should have told him how she felt. They both loved each other and washed 13 years. But they had an unbreakable friendship. I loved how they were always there for one another. Wow. Robbie was horrible and I was happy when devin finally stood up to him. But it was understandable he wanted to please everyone and finally have his chance. So he let people take over and change who he and his music were. I’m glad he went back to basics. Loved the ending. Can’t wait for more.

I have loved every Kelsey Kingsley book I’ve read…until this one. I don’t know if this was the first one she wrote about the River Canyon group or what, but it seemed more than a bit disorganized and not as well written as the others. It was also, at least to my mind, unnecessarily long and could have been tightened up a good bit to make a better, more cohesive story. And then there were the spelling mistakes that any good editor would have caught…ouch! I’m just glad it wasn’t the first of her books I’d read or I might not have read another!

I'm glad when they did finally realize it there wasn't any tug and pull. They dove right in. I did shed a tear around 83% but i recovered. I lover the bonus epilogue too.

Kelsey Kingsley does it again. She writes a story whose characters embed themselves into your heart and your life so that they feel like people you know. They feel like friends and family members. People you turn to to share something with and then feel the loss of them in your life because they aren't real all over again.

Her words, because I love words, always make a home in my heart. There are so many I want to share, but I don't want to use any spoilers either. I will say that the scene with the daisies in the field outside the graveyard... I'll have chills that are a permanent fixture in my body forever from just that one scene.

Here's some brilliant Kelsey words for you:

"When Devin sang, he went somewhere else, and he took me with him."
"My eyes locked to hers, and all at once, the foundation of my soul erupted into a million scattered pieces."
"But I think what you both need is for you to stop playing the hero in only her story. Maybe it's time for you to be your own too."

I can't wait for the entire world to read this story and see the magic that Ms. Kingsley makes with simple words that build characters and worlds that you can't forget.

I received an ARC of this book from the author that I adore more than words, but it is an honest and heartfelt review. And I turned around and bought the book anyway so I'd have the final copy in my hot little hands to reread.

This is truly a special story and EASILY one of the top five books I've read this year. I knew Devin and Kylie were going to be a special couple after reading their bedtime story in KU Korner and I was completely blown away by their entire story. I was hooked from the author's note. That's right. I hadn't even read the first chapter and I just had that feeling about this story. I wasn't disappointed. Each chapter dug it's claws into me and I became so enraptured in this story it was like I was part of it.

Kelsey Kingley's words are so beautiful and poetic. She weaves this breathtaking friendship between two people to the point that it felt so real. Like I was reading a story about two people who really exist because that's how complex this book is. It made me feel so many things. All the things I long for when reading a story. It's stories like this that keep my faith going in authors. That there are still beautiful stories out there that will take your breath away and bury themselves into your heart so that you'll never forget them. I wish we could get Kylie and Devin's entire life story because I would read it. This is one story, one couple that I truly fell in love with and could go on reading forever.

This is a story that you NEED to read! I promise.

This is a poignantly sweet book about two friends who fall in love. Devin is 6ft5 of gorgeous carpenter who happens to sing and play guitar. He works for his Dad and loves music but never really follows up on his dream. He meets a purple haired beauty, Kylie, at a frat party neither of them wants to be at and he rescues her from a pest. Both really likes the other, but Kylie isn’t in a place to get involved and Devin is a bit scared of his attraction to Kylie. So they become friends. The best of friends. It’s a friendship that comes to mean everything to both of them. When you have a friendship like that, you become scared to rock the boat.

This book is about dreams. The dreams you make when you are young and the ones that sneak up on you through living your life. It’s about recognising which dreams mean the most and fighting for them, but it’s also about making dreams come true for the people you care about. It’s also about the paralysis of fear, that prevents you from living your full life.

This author is gifted at seeing into the deep dark hearts of her characters and ripping them open for her readers. She explores the nuances of their hopes and fears and shares them with us. I love how her characters are at once lovable and engaging, whilst being flawed at the same time. Her characters are not perfect and this makes them more more real.

This is an engaging and well written book that isn’t your run-of-the-mill ‘friends to lovers’ or ‘rock’ novel.

A sweet and easy read, if a little long! Really liked the concept of this story, it wasn't your typical rock star romance and I admired the way both lead characters supported each other in obtaining their dreams. The fact that Devin didn't get his dream until later on in life made the story that much sweeter. Also liked the way the story developed where in the end Devin was able to be successful in his own right on his own terms with Kylie right behind him. The only niggling thing for me was the use of the "F" word during conversations, which seemed to happen an awful lot in this book; it was a little off putting, particularly from Kylie, but that is just my view. There was also a small part in the book where it appeared that Devin's age went from thirty six to thirty two then back to thirty six again! These are just my own personal niggly bits about the book, but still a super sweet read nonetheless and very much recommended!

This is my first Kelsey Kingsley book and WOW what a truly gifted writer. I could actually feel the love Devin had for Kylie. They have been BFFs forever and are inseparable. Devin is head over heels in love with Kylie every since their first meeting and would rather be friend zoned than risk their relationship. Devin’s dream is to be a musician and Kylie’s to open her own coffee shop with Devin being the entertainment there. Devin strikes an opportunity to record his songs and hits the big time. Every song he writes is about Kylie and she just doesn’t seem to join the dots. Once she finally gets it, it is a beautiful thing to watch. This is truly a wonderful story and I look forward to reading more from the fabulous author.

One of my top reads of 2018. I couldn’t put it down. Daisies & Devin is a sweet, tragic and poetic story of love, loss and dreams come true. A chance encounter in their early twenties sees Kylie & Devin on the course of a deep friendship that sets the agenda for them to live their dreams and be the loves of each other’s lives. This is not your average rock star romance and it is refreshing to experience a man living his dream with integrity. The slow burn is deliciously satisfying and pays off with a fantastic happy ever after. Kylie is flawed but likeable and from the prologue all I was rooting for her was to find peace, love and happiness.
The lyrics and poetry are beautifully written and we all deserve a hero like Devin O’Leary.
This story has stayed with me in the days since finishing it and I can’t recommend it enough if you are looking for a beautiful and deeply satisfying love story.
