Product Description

The Dake B-10 model manual utility hydraulic bench press uses a single-speed hydraulic handpump to lower the ram with up to 10 tons of force to facilitate pressing and forming. The channel iron H-frame accepts large and bulky items, and the hoist adjusts the table height for proper positioning. The workhead is movable to adjustment for off-center pressing. The hydraulic cylinder and pump handle can be positioned on either side of the press to maximize workspace and comfort. The release valve turns to release the hydraulic pressure, initiating ram return after downstroke. Closing the valve at any point during the ram return will halt the ram.

Two interchangeable ram noses are included: a flat nose piece for use in standard pressing operations and a step-reduced nose piece for supporting, positioning, or fitting into pieces when pressing. The two table plates provide support during pressing. The press has a gauge with a 2-1/2"-dia. display for pressure readings. The base has four 7/16"-dia. holes for bench mounting. Mounting hardware is not included. Hydraulic oil is not included. Press requires some assembly.

H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point of the press; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; L is length, the horizontal distance from front to back.

This is a nice little press. I have never owned one, so this was my first. I didn't want, and didn't have room for a floor mounted unit, so this bench top model fit the bill. I looked at a lot of the models here on Amazon and settled on this one based on reviews and the fact that Dake makes a lot of other larger presses. This one is made in China (What's new) but the quality seems very good. Shipping was 3rd party truck but notification was excellent. I had to be home when they came, I had a half hour window, which was fine. All the parts were there. I have used it now for pressing bearings out of drive pulleys, so nothing to stressing. I have no complaints with the usage. The table is easy to raise and lower and the plates seem good. I like that the ram is self retracting also. Would recommend.

I've owned this press for 5 months and have used it on several projects. Reading many 5-star reviews prior to buying set my expectations a bit too high. Although I could not find anything better for the price, it's not quite a 5-star product. I originally looked at a 20-ton unit from the Horrible company that imports Freight, but could not bring myself to buy it even at half the price of this Dake.

Firstly, a note about the dimensions which are listed as: 23" Length x 18" Width x 36" Height. Those dimensions are overall, which is good to know if you have space constraints. But they are also confusing and misleading. I think the length and width dimensions should be interchanged. Somewhere it should be prominently stated that it measures less than 17" between the upright rails.

A few observations about differences between the Amazon photo and the press I received: My pressure gauge seems to be a bit nicer than the one shown in the photo. It reads in tons (0 - 16) and kg/cm^2 (0 - 1000). The Dake nameplate, which appears to be aluminum in the photo is actually a cheap sticker. Bolts are plated (metric grade 8.8) instead of black. I added flat washers under all the bolt heads to keep them from gouging the powder-coat paint. The product description says hydraulic oil is not included, but my system came filled.

The instruction manual (which may be downloaded from the Dake website) is written clearly. After assembly, I tested the press at 1/3 capacity for several hours; then at 2/3 capacity; and finally at full capacity. No leaks! It does take quite a lot of force on the pump handle to get to the rated capacity (my back-of-the-envelope calculation says ~100 pounds, but it feels like much more than that).Read more ›

The equipment is ok and that s why I gave it a 4 star rating. The instructions should start off with....Look at the picture and put it together based off of that. The instructions are horrible and the box had made in China printed all over it which explains why the instructions were no good. I would have hoped Dake being a reputable American company they would at least edit or proof read the literature going with the equipment that bears their name. Simple to put together but if not logical it could go together differently and make the press dangerous to us. Maybe Dake will read this and do something about it.
It was also delivered 2 days late and the packaging was shredded. Amazon might want to consider using someone other than Pilot to ship to my state.

The company I work at has the same Dake press but bigger. When I saw this Dake press I immediately decided to purchase it because I was sure the build quality was going to be great. I was not disappointed. It was easy to assemble and use. I decided to use it on a wheel bearing that needed to be pressed out and a new one to be pressed in. It took 30 minutes to completely finish the task and it all went smoothly without any issues. Great product for good price. Definitely recommend.

Tool is very very nice, everything is done nicely and fits. The box was just broken small parts and bolts still inside the box, a small wooden frame inside the box might solve that problem. Instructions could have been useful , they are not, however if you buy and plan to use this tool you probably can figure out how to assemble the parts.
You will probably need different sizes of bearing tools , this is good KT Pro Tools 9BA11 10-Piece Bearing Race,I bought them from Amazon too.

Details from front bearing and hub installation on an Alfa Romeo 164 S its a front wheel drive car.

I feel the overall quality of the unit is very high for the price point. Is it the best press out there?...No...but unless you plan on spending serious money for something that you won't use this is a quality press. Shipping was very quick. Honestly I have used a $150 Harbor Freight Press and spend the extra money on this one it is much more sturdy and overall feels better and heavier. The biggest complaint I have is that the gauge on mine does not line up perfectly as it should, hence the 4 star as opposed to 5, but really I am being picky and if you are doing automotive things like wheel bearings or homeowner stuff this will be more press than you need. I have done wheel bearings on 3 vehicles and a couple of spindle decks and a hydraulic pump bearing so its still relatively new but it feels like it is going to hold up for a very long time.
