Alert system base
WHAT IS NEEDED
6 AA Batteries
The default for the system is set for outdoors with the infrared light on and maximum detection distance. I don't want anyone to be alerted by the light so I disabled it. The settings use small jumpers to toggle the settings on and off. I simply nailed the unit to the tree, after installing the batteries and screwing in the antenna. Simply place it about 10 yards from where you want it, 3-4 feet above the ground.
The alert system base just plugs right into the wall. There isn't a wall mount but the antenna is so long that makes it impractical. The antenna is the old telescoping type but has a bit of a wobble.
My sensor is quite a long distance away, and the sensitivity is just fine for my purpose. I wish the alerts could be changed from the "Zone 1", "Zone 2", "Zone X", announcements. 5 sensors can be set up to use this system.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the ease of set up, the functionality, and relatively reasonable cost for a system that is weatherproof.
If you need some form of monitoring, such as for your yard, your driveway, sidewalk or storage shed, this system will work for you.
I highly recommend it.
This alarm is so good I give the highest marks I can and that is even after a rough start.
After a rough start in that it would not work, we contacted the company that sold it and they reffered us to the manufacture. The Manufacturer figured out that the company was placing a wrong transmitter with the reciever then selling them.
So they sent me back the right transmitter that takes bigger and more batteries and it worked instantly, perfectly and still is!!!
Excellent on all phases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We use this product inside, the product is weather tight, but seems fragile inside. I would not classify this as rugged for a harsh snowy winter climate. I would expect to get many years use out of this inside or a couple years outside being beaten up by the elements. When the unit starts giving false alerts replace the batteries... the unit is not broke! The batteries lasted 6 months with heavy traffic in a sales office for us. I would say 2500-4000 trips of the alarm in that time period.
All in all I'm rather disappointed and recommend you look elsewhere.
sure you get a false signal from sun or shadow or a passing bird but it's not that frequent
My most recent addition was the base unit for the house which like the rest of the system just works
Not sure what the actual range is my property isn't that big but at 100 yards to my gate it works great
There are also additional settings if you do some research to customize the alerts so your not just limited to the 4 zones think sub zones
