I also loved the first book The Dalai Lamas Cat. And now I will buy the 3rd book of this series. I would love to interview the author!! Hey David maybe a movie is forthcoming??? THAT would be amazing!!
I cannot wait for June to be able to read the last book in the trilogy, and find out what is in store for not only the cat but the characters we have been following.
HHC (His Holiness' Cat) with a special task -- to investigate the art of purring.
In the course of her investigation, she re-introduces the reader of her previous
memoir to the staff of the Himalaya Book Cafe, the Dalai Lama's staff at Namgyal
and the monks of the monastery itself. And, to those who are just making her
acquaintance, HHC is careful to introduce them without interrupting the flow of

have consciousness). And all, in one way or another, contribute to her
As with the previous memoir, "The Dalai Lama's Cat", incidents and insights will
surface during your daily life. You may not be physically equipped to vibrate
resonantly, but your own version of purring can raise the level of happiness of
the sem chens around you.

It's a fantastic story, the characters are alive on the page and you just want to spend more time with them. And HHC is just about hopping off the page, you just want to tickle her ears. Many times I found myself thinking, this guy must know my cat, that's the sort of thing she'd do/say.
The story is engrossing and gives you some good insights in to Buddhism and humanity but without trying, I absolutely love both stories and have recommended the books already to friends.
I will definitely read them again, I was only sad when I reached the last page and had to leave Dharamsala, hhc and her family behind. I hope Mr Michie is planning another book soon.
The only reason to even look at the title is because I am a cat lover.
Now I have ordered a couple of the others books by this author.
It suddenly just hits you...well it hit me!
I am not going to become a Buddhist but have already downloaded a meditation app and will probably join a yoga course soon.
The author has a special way of communicating, and communicating he did with me.
