Not everything is great the second time around. Again, save your money.

Dallas loses it's flavour around this season. The remaining seasons are rather stale and boring with out Miss Ellie and Jock. It's only worth watching a few minutes here and there of JR, but the other actors just do not pack that punch that the earlier seasons had. Dallas is really only good on a solid level from seasons 1-5. Seasons 6 and after kept adding and switching characters but because I purchased the entire set, I am stuck with all of the seasons. It was only good to watch it on television, but not as a permanent collection. I feel ripped off and did suffer "buyers' remorse" after watching season 6 and 7 because the casting is weak and too much whining and repetition from the female characters, especially newer female characters are rather shallow and lack the substance that was made such a "big" deal even at that time. Pamela is a whiney and boring character who cannot make up her mind and Susan Howard has the most boring stories with Ray Krebbs (who was better off not being married at all). It becomes way too soapy. Basically the rest of the series goes on a huge repetition fest. Jock and Ellie really made this show worth watching. And forget about that "new generation" where JR and Bobby are senior citizens and the new cast is just ridiculously awful. It isn't even the same program and I am glad that this mess was taken off the air. You can't have a great set up and then change it because of including younger stars who lack the performance level or interest. Watching the series again just doesn't add up or justifies why it was all that great of a show because the producers and casting really destroyed the potential.

This season shows a serious lapse in quality and taste.

The trial of Ray Krebbs.
Ray pulled the plug on his nephew who was in a coma from an auto accident. Ray is arrested and aquitted of murder charges in just 2 episodes after a heartfelt speech in court from the boy's mother. Bad taste and very bad handling of a contoversial issue.

The romance between Sue Ellen and Peter Richards
Peter is an intern child counselor where John Ross is enrolled. Peter becomes obsessed with Sue Ellen, despite Sue Ellen being old enough to be his mother. Pete's classmates actually do mistake Sue Ellen for his mother in one episode.It is episode 27 when JR plants drugs in Peter's vehicle and has him framed and then aquitted. When Peter figures out that only one person has the power to do this, he explodes and JR has him sent packing never to be heard from again. (During her scenes with Christopher Atkins Linda Gray like she trying to avoid stepping in something.)

Bobby dates Jenna Wade but can't forget about Pam; Pam dates Mark Graison but can't forget Bobby.

The last 3 (notice a pattern here)episodes have some action: the kidnapping of Miss Ellie.

Clayton's psychotic sister ia an another annoying new character.

"Who Shot Bobby?" is a weak attempt to recycle "Who Shot JR?".

To Catch A Sly
Sly, JR's secretary spies on JR for Cliff, gets caught by JR who gives Sly false information to feed Cliff. This actually works to Cliff's advantage. This is the most interesting storyline so far.

Weak storylines are dragged out which only accentuates the weaknesses.

The special feature about the music on Dallas concentrates mainly on minor changes made to the opening theme over the years. To most people these changes are probably barely if at all noticeable.

We had to miss to chapters of one eposide because the disc would not move forward, so first time this happened to us and we are qradually buying the whole l4 seasons, We should not be stuck with such quality when we purchase new, so disappointed. Up till now we had got like now new
disc and no problems. Big disappointment. We pay for quality and do not get it.

Dallas has always been one of my ALL time favorite shows, but I'm so disappointed in some of the dvds I've received. This season is yet another one with problems. A number of the episodes stutter and freeze, making it impossible to watch them. I've never had this problem with any other series before. There seems to be something wrong with the quality. :(

RATING THE DVD QUALITY NOT THE SHOW

I absolutely love the show. However the quality of the DVDs were terrible. I had pixels and skipping through BRAND NEW DVDs. I was hoping to resell them after watching them, but that won't be the case as I would not want anyone else to have such poor quality of a product. I got no resolution from the seller because they said it was past my return time. The thing is, who sits down and watches an entire SEASON in the length of time they give you for returns? No one. So I am stuck. Did anyone else have these issues with the DVDs? I would love to know. I also purchased season 3 and season 9 and had the same issues. I had two episodes in season 7 that would not play AT ALL.

Terrible disk quality

We love this series and have been catching up on the later ones that we missed back in the 1980's. I give the series five stars but beware the disk quality is terrible. So far we have had to miss 7 of the episodes.... freezing..and one entire disk side won't play. Other reviewers have had the same issue so be prepared that this could cause you problems and frustration. 2 stars for disk quality!
