Both these characters have a deliciously twisted past. Holly's been forced to take care of what's left of her family, the story of every woman struggling to make ends meet. Nicholas lost his wife in a grisly accident, and it seems he'll never love again. It's an insane recipe for love, lust, and coming to terms, banishing old demons and taming new ones. I absolutely love the way Adams lays this story out with such well developed characters.
You can really feel everything her hero and heroine are feeling through the pages. If you like stories about redemption with plenty of charged moments and some angst, then don't miss this one.
Both Holly and Nicholas are kind of damaged, but in different sorts of ways. I didn't know what to make of Nicholas at first, to be honest. He just seemed kind of aloof and out there, but more in a lonely and quiet sort of way? I felt bad for him a little bit, but then I wanted to know more about him, too.
Holly was more open and out there, but she was kind of forced to be, too. She's guarded in her own ways, and has a sort of lonely quietness of her own, but it's not exactly they same.
They both went well together, though. I liked how they interacted. I can't say that it was the same as what I originally expected, but I really really enjoyed it nonetheless. It was a little different but in a good way.
There's a lot of interesting things going on with this book, though. It's hard to explain everything without ruining some parts, but I really enjoyed it.
Such powerful sensuality and emotional aspects that makes you want to absorb every word. Would love to read and everything from this author.
Highly recommended this book.
