Author Austin Camacho manages to adeptly spin a suspenseful yarn as he entices his reading audience to be drawn right into the storyline. He certainly had my attention right from the get go. I not only enjoyed the main character, Hannibal Jones, but also his supporting cast of individuals who add to the thrill of this mystery. Yes...this is definitely a great mystery thriller, as it kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It offers many twists and turns and a very unpredictable ending. Good stuff!
Inspirational Author & Book Reviewer ~ Dolores Ayotte
I especially enjoyed some of the side action, for example, the examination of hip hop music ...with which I am absolutely unacquainted, and the insight into lifestyles with which I do not have, and will never have experience. they added texture and color to this book, without detracting in the least from the story line. In fact, the author drew all the threads together in a smooth, professional manner that impressed me.
Toward the end, I admit to thinking *now* what's going to happen? And something always did, but, surprising and delighting me, what happened was never quite predictable, so I didn't mind what seemed an extended climax. All in all, this is a wonderful read, and offers more than a little of more than a few things for any reader.
Damaged Goods is one of the best if not the best book I have ever read. You feel as if you are right there in the book with everyone. I cried with the characters and laughed and even cheered when the good guys won.
I have passed this book to a few special friends that have also read this book. This book helped myself and a few others see that we are not alone. This book will hit home but I promise you will never want to put it down.
Austin has a wonderful way of making you feel at home in his books. He has been blessed with a real gift for writing. I am looking forward to future books by him.
Happy reading everyone.
I honestly couldn't put it down except when forced, (funny how they think you ought to work at work, instead of reading... harrumph) and was constantly thinking about it when not reading.
I was SO happy with the ending! It wasn't utterly predictable, it wasn't too easy, and I felt like justice was served. Beautiful combination, yes?
I look forward to reading Collateral Damage by Austin Camacho, now. Hannibal Jones is a guy to follow.

Camacho did another fine job. This a little different that the first few. Very dark and seedy. Hannibal gets a new dimension to his character. Must read!Published on August 10, 2013 by Donna S
