This one has a little different twist - it's the heroine who needs redemption, rather than the hero. Truthfully, I was flat out PO’ed at Renie. She was a spoiled, selfish, immature brat and didn’t deserve Billy, nor did he deserve to be treated the way Renie treated him. I would have kicked her to the curb shortly after her first tantrum, and no way would I have given her as many chances as Billy did. But then, in the most amazing, romantic scene in the book, where Billy reveals to Renie all of her significant pieces and parts that he had figured out, I totally got it, and everything made so much more sense! I actually went from hating her to wanting to hug her. Not to mention it elevated Billy from hero to superhero. We should all be so lucky to have a Billy. *sigh* So feel free to get mad at Renie as you read, but just know the author puts it all together in an amazing, beautiful way! Yes, I’m making an assumption that you will read this one (and it’s sooo worth it!). You really don’t want to miss it!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
At first I really didn't like Billy. I thought he was a whoredog plain and simple, but he finally wowed me with the depth of his devotion and love.
Renie is definitely her mother's daughter and had a tendency to take off if she got too conflicted and Billy had a lot of complications.
Renie has loved Billy since she was little and they've been friends forever. When they go deeper, a lot changes and surprises come.
Renie runs and meets a guy she clicks with, not sure how I feel about her with Jace and now there's Tucker too. I AM sure there are more great stories to come out of those two hunks.
If you like emotional, realistic romance, you're sure to enjoy this.
I received an ARC from the author and am giving my honest opinion.
Dance with Me is the 2nd book in the Cowboys of Crested Butte series and Heather Slade has done a bang up job with this book.
Billy and Renie have been friends for a long time and she has been in love with Billy from a very young age but he never knew about her feelings. We read about some of their relationship in Fall for Me (Book 1) but this book brings their relationship totally to light. With so many ups and down, surprises, separations, family who supports, challenges and changes you just keep reading to find out what happens next. Leaves you with so many different "feels", slap up side the head, laughter, tears, and swooning too!
Can’t wait for the next book in this series! ! !
Billy Patterson has to learn how to be a father to a daughter he never expected and figure out how to get the love of his life back. Neither are easy tasks but this isn't this bronco riding cowboy's first rodeo...
This journey of love between these two characters will be more exciting and thrilling than any 8 second ride!
