Rudy Scarfalloto was born on the island of Sicily in 1953, in a village called Raddusa. He moved to Brooklyn, New York at the age of eight with his parents, three brothers and three sisters. You may be reminded of a particularly good Richard Linklater film. You may perhaps hear the voice of a stranger you have passed in the street reading a line or two. You will certainly never return it to the shelf feeling anything less than fulfilled.
My strongest hope is that this book is translated into as many languages as possible, so that more people may experience it. Wonderful is the only superlative that can attempt to describe this work.
The folks at Amazon may want to consider adding a 6th star to their ratings system.
