The author, a clinical and public health nurse and experienced parent expertly lays out the essence of her guide up front, telling readers what they should expect when perusing it. While Solovieff has an encouraging, reassuring voice, she does not suggest that there are easy fixes.
The book is supportive of this ongoing need because it features a multitude of worthy exercises. Valuable tables at the start help readers remember the capacities and gauge their skills before and after putting them into practice."

From the Author
Everyone shakes their head 'yes', when they hear the name of this book. I hear, "it really IS a dance, isn't it!" It seems to resonate with many. Which makes sense, because the material in it came from hearing from many throughout my years. Yet I do a little clap inside when that's what I hear.
It was exciting when I first started to write this book. I'm writing a book! Then the process became a bit daunting. I had many moments of thinking how dare I write something about this huge experience called parenting. Yet clearly I kept at it (with the help of my mastermind group).
I kept thinking about my own huge experience of parenting and how what I was writing about ultimately helped me, and others, thrive even within all the parenting challenges that occur. And if you're involved in the parenting journey, why not have it be as positive as possible during the journey!
Throughout writing I got to re-visit some parents I have talked to, on paper. It renewed my honor for the spirit of parenting - for the kind of intelligence it takes to lovingly care for self and child as we make it through the challenges of parenting! Wowza. It really does happen!!
It also confirmed my experience that we really DO NEED practices that support parenting skills. So, in the end, writing this book was one big affirmation for me. And it's sounding like that for readers too so I am a happy camper.
Take care now, Natasha
