I loved David and Mason's story. Their sexual relationship is hot from the very beginning, but the intensity of their coming together still manages to build and build until I was tearing through the pages in a fever, dying to find out how far they would take it next! The BDSM is relatively mild, but still manages to be as hot as a firecracker with every interlude. It was wonderful to travel with them as the trust which slowly developed between them carried them to the next level of passion and intimacy.
And their professional relationship is nearly as hot. Jealousies and egos flare out of control threatening to destroy what David and Mason have built together. The tension at the dance studio had me holding my breath right up to the climatic opening night when Mason dances his heart out for the man he loves.
An enthralling trip into a mesmerizing world written beautifully by Colette Davison. Can't recommend this book highly enough.
The story was a gentle ride that was a beautiful slow burn to love. We had already met Mason in the first book of this series and i really liked him then. It was terrific to get to really focus on getting to know him and his dreams and fears. David is such a good match for Mason, together they make each other better men.
This is the second book in the series, however it could be read as a stand-alone. We did get to see Adam from the first book and that really was nice for me, because i loved book one, A Dance For Two!
I loved the balance between the different elements of the story - Mason had experienced only vanilla se* before meeting David, but the author made a great job describing how the younger lover slowly but steadily accepted his penchant for the kinky side of his older lover without losing his brattish behaviour; this book could be considered as the perfect instruction manual for any Dom on how to breach the subject, discuss it, respect your prospective sub’s limits and enjoy every time they accept and embrace pushing their limits.
But it is also a story of enjoying couple-y moments at home, just spending time in silence or doing the household chores and respecting the other’s professional decisions even if you do not agree with them.
It was a wonderful story about the importance of communicating both in your private life as professionally.
The ballet life is more than just the background of the story, it is the first passion David and Mason share - I would have liked to read more about David’s work; the scenes at the dance studio were mainly focused on Mason and his struggle to excel at dancing and being accepted by his new co-workers.
Don’t think it is a cheeky story, but rather a story about how wonderful a love story can be when both partners are willing to take it a day at a time, dedicating time and effort to know each other.
Written from both POVs, this author was new for me and I really enjoyed her writing, so I’ll keep an eye on her new works, and go back to the previous book dedicated to Mason’s best friend.
