I am not, usually, a fan of science fiction. I enjoyed some Isaac Asimov books, but that's about it. I probably got this one as a freebie from one of those email services, bc I would not have paid for a science fiction title. That said, what a good book! Characters with actual human traits, that I cared about. Situations that had me on the edge of my seat, or water leaking from my eyes. Pages that HAD to be turned. Words I had to investigate. I'm only giving 4 stars bc the ending felt a bit rushed, a bit shallow after the rest of the book. Still, I'm keeping it to reread at some future time. I would also read another of his, should he ever make the effort. Recommended.
