Book Review: “Dancing to the White House book one
Gary Morgenstein Story, Mark Karlson illustrations.
I was quite surprised when I opened up this “book”.
If you think of books as bound papers filled with the written word upon, well this is not quite that kind of novel.
This is a book a political junkee would adore. Even more beneficial, one does not have to be a political junkee. The narrative is explained by the written word, of course, but the words are accompanied by a political cartoon that delights, amuses, and, yes, teaches.
This is the story of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ ascent into the White House. Other characters include, to no one’s surprise, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.
The organization trying to pick a suitable Democratic nominee is called “MADS”, for “Make America Democratic Socialist”.
Thus begins a funny story. For anything featuring Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a main character is bound to be funny.
The cartoons are smart, hip and knowledgeable. Look out for the birth certificate printer, characters with amazingly tiny hands and mottos such as “If you can’t beat ‘em, TAX ‘EM.
New characters are involved in different chapters. I noticed Elizabeth Warren in one. I think she was drinking beer.
This book is fun to read on a Kindle or I-Pad. One can stop and peruse the cartoons, finding funny bits all about.
Put up the feet and enjoy.
