The characters are more than merely believable, and the ending is unbelievably amazing. I'm not normally a romance novel fan, but I met the author and because he favorably impressed me, I read the book. I'm glad I did, because it's a five-star book. David Carlyle, "Another Land."
Well let me start out by saying that I won the audio version of this novel back in December. Was not sure about listening to a book because I had never done it before. But it on in the car one afternoon while driving around to do some errands and fell in love with the novel. So now I will get into my actual review.
The Author Jordan T. Maxwell has written a story of young love starting out, along with a father who loves his daughter so much, but has a hidden secret about his past that once his daughter, Erin, becomes engaged for the first time, he decides that it is time to tell her about himself.
Jerry Collins is a fine young man from a wonderful family, who meets his true love Laura Butler on her first day of school. Laura's family was just as wonderful. Both Jerry and Laura were raised with what some might say "Old Fashion Values". But became almost inseparable.
As Jerry started talking with Erin concerning his life, you fall in love with the characters and the place in which they grow up. Jordan T. Maxwell's writing of this novel grabs you and pulls you right in to the middle of the Collins and Butlers lives. I would some times get in the car and drive just to have the quite time to listen to the story. Could not wait to hear what was going to happen.
Erin learns how to build on her love and how that her father loved another before he loved her mother. She watches and listens over a period of a weekend about how he still has old feelings and still hurts, loves and respects his childhood love.
I loved how the story came together. How it flowed and really took you back into Jerry and Laura's child hood. As for it being my first Audio Book, it has given me a desire to get more. I really enjoyed how the descriptions of the families and places really drawed you in. Not to mention the fact that I did not have to hold the book or turn pages. Jordan T. Maxwell has captured my attention and will be looking forward to reading or listening to more novels written by him.
Jerry surprises his daughter with information about his previous marriage to his high school sweetheart. Erin never dreamed her father had been married before. By sharing his carefully kept journals, he reveals the details of a tender, loving relationship that began his freshman year in high school.
He met Laura the first day of school when she accidentally smacked him in the face with her locker door, and it seems it was love at first sight. The detailed journal entries tell Jerry's story of love. From the first date, to the first kiss, to the first prom, and finally marriage and a set of beautiful twins, Erin hears about a love that was pure and true.
DANDYFLOWERS paints a beautiful, honest picture of the tender development of young love. Author Jordan T. Maxwell takes readers into the intimate corners of the relationship between Jerry and Laura, at moments heartwarming and funny, and at times heartbreaking and emotional. Fascinated by the intense descriptions, there were times when I laughed and others when I wiped away tears.
I highly recommend this book to anyone involved with teen girls who may be dreaming of future romance. They would be lucky to have even half the experiences portrayed in DANDYFLOWERS.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I laughed at the jokes they played on one another. I sighed at the romance. I smiled at the beautiful and modest description of their wedding night. I giggled as they bantered with one another... and I wept.
Jordan Maxwell did a wonderful job with this story. But my advice to all readers is to make sure you have a handkerchief handy toward the ending of the book. You may need it!
