Dane was made A’li-uud Tribal Elder, king of the Montemba kingdom on the planet Albaterra when his brother, the previous Elder, transferred the Elder role to him. Dane is now in charge of the offensive on Earth and gets captured, along with some of his warriors. New Ambassador of Alien Relations Roxanne Rigby has been given the task of negotiating a peace treaty with the leader of the A’li-uud. Roxanne's interaction with the handsome Dane leaves her insides twisted and she can't stop fantasizing about him. Dane is enchanted by the curvy and beautiful Roxanne and can't stop thinking about her. Dane is allowed to return to planet Albaterra with all his warriors to discuss the peace treaty with the A’li-uud Council but Roxanne's belligerent boss General Rodney insists on he and some soldiers join them. Dane agrees on the condition that Roxanne accompanies them. Things are complicated when Dane lands with humans on board. Dane's brother Duke believes that Dane's feelings for Roxanne has clouded his judgment and condemned the A’li-uud to death. General Rodney's demands has him, Dane and Roxanne summoned before the Council, whose priority is the safety of the A’li-uud. A passionate Roxanne pleads her case for peace before the Council, who had voted to invade earth and exterminate the humans. What will the Council decide?
Dane is action-packed, suspenseful, and steamy. Ashley L. Hunt has created an exciting alien world full of engaging characters for a book I could not put down. I highly recommend this book.
While it is enriching to read Rex, Duke, and any other previous tales Ashley hunts has released in regards to the A’li-uund race, it’s not essentially needed to enjoy this book. Ashley Hunt drops you right into the action, then within moments and scenes there is a true understanding of the past, present, and future journey. You’re engrossed in the tale, eagerly awaiting what’s coming next, and praying for a good outcome.
Roxanne has the new position of Ambassador of Alien Relations. She has never actually met one of the aliens, only seen them on television. When she sees Dane for the first time she is awestruck. He is chiseled perfection. She does her best to ignore the attraction, but he seems to be similarly attracted to her.
Dane's initial reaction to the peace talks is a big "hell no." When he is thrown back into his cell he is astonished that his biggest worry is that he won't see Roxanne again. When they finally meet again he presents his demands for the peace process. These include a ship to take them home.
Roxanne can't believe that Dane's demands are met. She Aldo can't figure out how she ended up on the space ship headed to his home world. And why is he ignoring her?
I resisted the urge to read ahead to Lokos' story, the beginning of which is included at the end of the book. I would just be mad that I had to wait for the rest of it!
It you haven't read any of the books yet, then here is some infection: the inhabitants of Albaterra, the A'li-uuds, who are aliens have come to Earth to eliminate/take care of a perceived threat that it seems the Human Race poses to the planet Albaterra. They are on Earth to completely wipe out all humans that they encounter.
This book picks up right were the story of "Duke" ended. The H is Duke's brother and was made A'li-uud Tribal Elder by his brother when he transferred the role to the H. And is now in charge of the offensive on Earth and somehow gets captured, alone with quite a few of his warriors.
The h is the Ambassador of Alien Relations and has been giving the task of trying to negotiate a peace treaty with the leader of the A'li-uud. Talk about instant attraction when they see each other for the first time. Will they be able to work out a peace treaty? Add into the mix a General who causes nothing but problems band read what happens. I volunarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and this review is my own opinion.
