Exhibit 1: Travis told Bliss "stay in the car, I'm going to check out the house". Guess what Bliss does? Yep, when her panic sets in, she drives up to the house, goes in alone.
Exhibit 2: Wendy was told NEVER go outside without an escort. Her housekeeper arrived and she went outside to help with groceries, only to find housekeeper's husband in the trunk and Daniel waiting for her. (Yep, Daniel got to her housekeeper the night before)
Exhibit 3: Bliss, revealed to Daniel, the killer, that Wendy he had abducted earlier was wearing a tracking device, so that police will not show up so that he will not kill everybody just out of spite (really,? You trust the words of a serial killer?)
Exhibit 4: Bliss had both a tazer and a pistol on her. Except apparently either her Tazer is really a stun gun, for she can only use it in contact mode. She dropped it, pulled out the pistol, except it was never cocked (or safety still on), so it wouldn't fire. (Why take a pistol or tazer if you don't know how to use them?)
These kinds of "characters doing the idiot dance" plot makes the book hard to recommend.
Bliss has taken care of Wendy her whole life, even though Wendy is now married and has an infant. Wendy's husband is away on business and learns of her disappearance when Bliss puts him on the phone with Travis. Familiar with Aegis, he immediately hires them to find Wendy. And the clock is ticking.
Ex-Navy SEAL, Travis Ration, works for the Aegis Group security firm while doing a side job for the FBI. A serial killer has been abducting young blonde women for years but the connection to them has just been realized. When Bliss reports her sister, Wendy, missing, Travis knows she is the killer's latest victim.
This story is more of a thriller than suspense with a psychotic serial killer on the lose. The incredible chemistry between Travis and Bliss was well written, especially with their personalities being so different. Poor Travis didn't think much of himself because he was a convicted felon and thought no woman should be saddled with him. Bliss was a very strong, capable woman who had looked after Wendy her entire life. Even after Wendy was married. Bliss just looked after everything all the time.
This action packed story is very sexy. I enjoyed the suspense in this book but there were too many long sex scenes that filled up too much of the book - bordering on an erotic read.
My rating is 3.5 stars.
This was a solid romantic suspense that kept me riveted from cover to cover. There were some points regarding the suspense part that didn't sit well with me but I'm sure this was my mistake. Bliss and Travis were perfect together and made me more than once smile.
No cliffhanger, HEA and hot love scenes kept me happy. I absolutely enjoyed this book.
