and the writing! too many exclamation points! sometimes felt like a high school attempt at a raymond chandler novel for the 21st century (did i just say that? LOL).
characters were flat, there were no real twists and turns, just a straight line to a flawed end.
anyway, i love science fiction, but hard to find great ideas coupled with great writing (william gibson, for example).
I have read this book twice now, and enjoyed it more the second time. It is a book that you cannot put down. It grips you in the first chapter and keeps you wanting more. I look forward to many more works from this new author.
