“Love, lies, and deceit run rampant in this deliciously sordid, steamy contemporary, the second in Van Dyken’s Liar’s Ink series. Van Dyken has loaded this winner with humor, a touch of suspense, and plenty of delicious sex scenes that will leave readers breathless.” —Publishers Weekly (starred review)

I may have started to get on board with Jesse and Isla in Dirty Exes but oh man was I rethinking all of that when I started reading Dangerous Exes! Jesse was getting me sooo irritated with his irrational anger and blaming Isla for all his problems!!! Hello he brought the stuff on himself!! Dude should have just manned up a long time ago and settled his business! Sorry rant over, as you go further into the book and really get to know Jesse and Isla better you start rooting for them again.
These two characters have been burned pretty badly in their past and this story is them finally healing from those old wounds, learning about who they are as single people, as well as who they are when they are around each other. And it turns out that they push each other’s buttons in the best of ways and bring out the best in each other. Overall this is another great book by Rachel Van Dyken!

In this book, Jessie starts by trying get back and Isla's PI agency because he believes they ruined his career (hmm maybe reading the books in order would be best). However, Isla and he realize that they would get more out of their relationship if they pretend they are together (both career wise and personally). I loved their interactions, their little quirks and overall, their banter. I adored Isla's aunt and Blair and Colin were really fun in this book. Overall, the characters were good, although the bad guys in this book were a little overdone. There was a happy ending and I enjoyed the book.
I bought the ebook and then the audiobook was whispersynced at an amazing price. And I saw that Teddy Hamilton was narrating and I'll buy pretty much any book that he narrates. And he was fantastic. I loved his inflections, his ability to change from male to female voices, and his pacing. Lucy Rivers, on the other hand, did ok playing female characters but her male voice was not great- she sounded like a woman lowering her voice to play a man. It kind of detracted a bit from the story but that said, when she was playing Isla, she did fine. I'm so glad I bought the ebook and even the audiobook because well, Teddy Hamilton :D
The main problem with this book is Jessie. He is childish, irrational, and his need for revenge is misplaced. Until him and Isla start to get along a little better and his anger gets directed to the right person the book was unbearable. Once he realized his errors it got a lot better. It is his ex that deserves his anger and their plans to bring her down are simple but make a much better story.
On my review for Dirty Exes I said Jessie was a character that needed to get his affairs in order and the same is true here. He is in this situation not just because of his exes actions but his too. Blaming Isla and her company just made him one very annoying character.
Isla was the same feisty and strong character we met in Dirty Exes. I love her bright personality!
I don't agree with all her actions, she got a little childish too. But her childish actions made me laugh and often came from a place of fear. She really liked him and it was never her intention to destroy him. She did what she got paid to do, she investigated him.
Isla's aunt though stole the show! I would happily read all her parts again. That woman was inappropriate, incorrigible and hilarious!
This book had great moments. Isla and Jessie did have a great chemistry.
All in all not an amazing book. But I do strongly recommend you read Dirty Exes if you haven't yet. It was honestly one of my favorite romance books this year. Whatever I may think of this book it does not change the fact that Rachel Van Dyken is an amazing writer, this one just wasn't for me.

Jessie Beckett is mad and wants to make them pay so he is spying on them, especially Isla its really getting to her.
This is a funny story of enemies to lovers, to get the media of Jessie’s back, as it was their company’s fault for his bad press.
To get back at his ex and the rehabilitation of his reputation. They decide that Isla and Jessie are going to pretend to be a couple. Well we always know what happens, the sparks fly. This Rachel Van Dyken at her best giving us a hilarious and hot romance between Jessie and mistrusting Isla. Great fun from the start until that wonderful ending. I have to say this is my favourite in this hilarious RomCom Series. I'm not saying anymore just read it for yourself and have a great time..

I received a copy from Skyscape via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I love Rachel Van Dyken's books. I was amazed and excited to receive a copy.
This is Rachel Van Dyken's second book in the Liars Inc Series. It's also a spin off from her Wingman Inc Series. This follows Blaire and Isla who became Private Investigators with their own business called Dirty Exes Inc, after being burned by their dirty, filthy, cheating exes. Now they bust your dirty, filthy cheating partners with their proverbial pants down.
This is Isla's, Blaire's best friend and business partner and Jessie, Blaire's exes book.
Isla is a planner, everything is in order, colour co-ordinated, highlighted. Takes her job and business seriously. Jessie is black and white, clean, neat, controlled.
He's also trying to get his life back on track after getting humiliated by his manipulating, conniving, cheating ex-wife who she hired Dirty Exes to catch him cheating, but was the innocent party, his wife at the time made it look like he was. But it was her all along.
So now he's out for revenge and he's gunning for Isla and Dirty Exes to 'destroy her like she destroyed him, from the inside out.' Feeling betrayed and hurt he goes to the extreme to try and clear his name and ruin Isla and Blaire's company.
They both end up playing each other to see who gives in first. That is, until things get a little out of hand and a bit complicated. So to cover their butts they say that their together.
Could this work out for them to save Jessie's reputation and Dirty Exes?
Isla's Goo-Poh (Aunt in Chinese, due to Isla being half Chinese) is hilarious, she's all for traditions, everyone has that one relative that's a bit crazy. She's Isla's.
