Get ready for another sleepless night with Jack! He is back! Romance, friendship and a killer on the loose. K.D. Mason's Jack Beale is the Seacoast of NH s version of Lawrence Sander s Archie McNally in Palm Beach Florida. --Kathy Cox
Meals and sleep were willingly sacrificed during my reading of the first two Jack Beale mysteries, K.D. Mason. The intense and unexpected plot of Dangerous Shoals has, once again, demanded that I keep turning that infamous next page, lest I be left hanging by my thumbs. Whether or not one missed the first two books, Dangerous Shoals stands alone, and leaves one looking forward to the next Jack Beale thriller. --Paul Donovan
About the Author
A lifelong runner and sailor, K.D. mason lives on the New Hampshire seacoast with his wife of over 40 years and two cats, Molly and Sweet Pea. They have two grown children, a son who lives in Las Vegas with his wife and step daughter, and a daughter who with her husband and their daughter now live in California. Recently retired from a lifetime of working in the restaurant business, he now weaves compelling tales of mystery, romance and suspence set on the NH Seacoast. Years of sailing in the Caribbean and New England as well as hanging out with an active running community have given him a wealth of story ideas.

Very enjoyable series.
Another thing that bothered me was the use of slang in the narration. For instance, the cat "snarfed" down it's food. Really? It's one thing for a character in a book to use slang as part of a conversation. That's totally acceptable. But it is not acceptable for the author to use slang as narrative, it makes the writing appear unprofessional.
Pretty good story line and the author doesn't rely on foul words and sex scenes to fill out a story, so I'll give him credit for that. Not bad for a light read.
I put it in the category of beach books, or
books to read when you are on vacation, etc.
Not being from the northeast, I also got
some flavor for that area of the country.

Great stories for those from the NH sea coast.
