That's right people, no cliffhanger in this book!!!!! No continuation of this story to be written in a book you have to wait 6-12 months to get. When the book is done, the story is done!!!! This is a typical bad boy meets good girl but he thinks he is not good enough for her. Dara finds Stone dark and brooding when she meets him. And talk about conceited. OMG. When she is around him, her heart rate increases and she finds him "dangerous". Stone has been through a devastating loss in his life and he has a lot of guilt over it so he tries to punish himself by not being happy. He usually only gets involved with girls that do not want any kind of commitment from him. He also has problems communicating with his father because of the guilt he feels. If you like a high school love story with a little twist toward the end, this could be a good book for you. There were no hot and heavy love scenes in this book, so if you are looking for that, you won't find it in this story. I enjoyed reading this book and would definitely read another book from this author. Oh, and did I mention THERE IS NO CLIFFHANGER!!!!!!!

Warning/Spoilers

I didn't like that the hero was floundering his hook up female around the town in the heroine's face shortly after "she" was the one he was intimate with. He continued being intimate with the hook up girl whilst being also intimate with the heroine. Yes they were not together as a "real couple" at the time, but him showing an interest to the heroine and pursuing her on the intimate level suggest he had given her a sense of commitment for an indefinite period of time, so it felt morally wrong for him to just continuing showing an interest in her whilst sleeping with the other woman. The worst is that the heroine was not even aware he slept with his hook up girl whilst also "showing an intimate interest in her." I don't care how damaged he was and that he warned her of his "bad persona" Just because he chose to be unemotionally unavailable to the female population it does not give him the licence to have that kind of disregard to the women he chooses to have interest whatever that interest may be. Going from one woman's body to the heroine in a heartbeat is not romantic at all...I would not like the guy I have affection for kissing me and being intimate with me and the next minute doing the same to some random girl and back to me again after "his escapade"....call me stupid, but it sounds like an already used shoes...not so special anymore! And when did "emotionally unavailable" become a thing? Is our generation so afraid of commitment interpreting it as a waste of time?

I was very uncomfortable reading descriptive details of him being intimately with another woman and it just ruined the book for me! Yes he had some good qualities, and so as the heroine but these "incidents" damaged my ability to consciously progressing throughout the story without a feeling of betrayal what otherwise should have been flourished and fulfilled journey.

I'll admit that after I read the book, I felt that the synopsis was a tad bit misleading, since reading the first sentence implies that Stone suffered an accident in his past. It isn't until very late in the book that we actually find out what accident happened and the circumstances. The last few chapters felt rushed to me, as shocking secrets are exposed and then the conflict seems to be resolved very quickly. It was unrealistic in a way because Stone's parents are at first shocked and horrified at what has been revealed, but then they seem to just kind of accept it and move on from it like nothing. There should have been more emotion, and Stone's parents ended up feeling like filler characters to move the crisis along.

Now, I'll admit, this story did have its moments. There are very few books that have ever caused me to shed a tear or two, and this book did that to me twice. One was with Dara and her mother, and the second was with Stone and his dad when they had a heart-to-heart. Just out of nowhere, a couple of tears dropped unexpectedly, and I found myself wondering why. I have reasoned that it's because at these points in the story I was very emotionally invested in what was going on.

Another thing I honestly truly loved about this book were the descriptions. They weren't too over the top, nor were they bland. Usually, I never really pay attention to how characters are described physically and end up imagining my own version of them, but this time it was easy to picture the characters as they were described.

Although I didn't love this story, I did enjoy reading it due to the tension that was felt at times. Stone is one of those characters that makes you want to yell at him for his mistakes and his hot/cold attitude.

Overall, this book gets 3.5 Platypires from me.

Classic story of good girl and bad boy love, but better.

Dara, from the distance seems to have it all. Good looks, friends, and really what else is there for a teenage girl. But life for Dara hasn't been what it seems.

Stone, growing up with money and privilege doesn't always mean life is easy. He portrays the hard exterior, lets no one close enough to hurt him. Just him and his motorcycle. No one knows the struggle he deals with just to get through each day.

From the moment Dara arrives at her first day of work and they see each other, they both sense trouble. Dara knows his reputation with girls, knows he is bad news and will only break her heart. Stone sees a goody goody girl and knows no matter how attractive he finds her, she is not the type of girl for him. He likes his girls with no strings, and knows Dara is the kind of girl that comes with lots of strings attatched.

They both ignore they inner voice and go with their heart. Slowly Dara melts the walls Stone has built around his heart. She feels closer to him then she has felt to anyone before.

They have their ups and downs, but when a secret Dara has kept to herself forever, comes out, it threatens everything they have built. Can these two find their way back to each other? Can Stone forgive her and let her back in..

I cried and i laughed and enjoyed this couple so much. I can not wait to continue on in this series.
