Readers of my blog and other guidebooks on free things to do in Europe have been asking me for more free attractions across Scandinavia, and so this book and similar books on Denmark, Norway, and Sweden were born. It’s shorter than most of my others and therefore priced lower.
Inside you’ll find attractions that are always free, sometimes free, or free for certain people.
Each entry has a well-researched description, contact information (email, phone, website), and links to contextual information. Color photos too!
It works great with the Kindle App for your smartphone, so you can get directions from Google.
Thanks to many loyal readers who email me when information changes and when they find free activities, this book is constantly being updated. It has been reorganized by town location, but still includes a reference by city and one by category, so you can quickly find all the free museums, art, literature, music, etc.

101 Free Things To Do In Disney & Orlando (2012 Edition) (Travel Free eGuidebooks Book 5)
Jun 28, 2012
$2.99
I have traveled to over 40 countries, and I’ll admit it, I’m still chasing that sense of excitement and wonder I had as a kid in Epcot Center. Walt Disney World sparked my love of seeing the world.
The folks at the Walt Disney Company are experts at what they do: experts at providing a great family experience, experts at creating a dream-world for kids, and experts at separating you from your money!
On my last trip to Disney, I was determined to find some free ways the whole family could have some fun without me hearing that giant sucking sound in my wallet.
Not only was I able to find free activities, attractions, souvenirs, and entertainment, but we actually stayed under budget. At Disney! Can you believe it? I even figured out ways to get free entrance to the parks and upgrade tickets.
The key was finding and taking advantage of the free activities both inside Disney and around the entire Orlando area. Orlando is a major travel destination with plenty of businesses willing to give it away for free just to get you in the door.
Some totally 100% free experiences you can have include:
+ Free Disney films, concerts, parades, and festivals
+ Learn to draw Disney characters from a REAL Disney animator
+ Complimentary golf club rental
+ Sing around a campfire with Chip ‘n Dale
+ Wake up Tinkerbell
+ Soak in a hot spring
+ Be the Veteran Of The Day
+ Free souvenirs
+ Free tours, free music, free butterfly farms, free outdoor activities and much much much more!
This book is all about discovering the FREE stuff in Disney World and Orlando, whether it be an experience, place, or event. Yes, you can have that great family vacation without breaking the bank.
Everything you need is in this guidebook. Each well-researched listing gives a description of the destination and lists when it’s free. I’ve included links to websites for more information, address and contact information, and links to Google maps to get directions. An interactive map at the end shows the locations of all the places in this book.
There’s also a chapter on how to use time share presentations to get free tickets to the Disney parks.
Please note that free can mean totally free, or free with the purchase of something else. If an attraction is free only during certain times, I’ve listed those times for your convenience.
Also know that I have made every attempt to keep this book updated and will edit it when new information becomes available. It can hard to keep up, so if you find something that needs correcting, please let me know. If you have any suggestions or requests, I’d love to hear that too.
I hope this book serves you well and makes your trip memorable, fun, and affordable. And if you like this book, be sure to sign up for my Free Travel Ideas newsletter at FreeTravelIdeas.com.

England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. The seat of Western civilization and one of the most popular travel destinations in the world…but wow is the United Kingdom EXPENSIVE!
How can you see this diverse, energetic, historic yet modern region without paying through the nose?
It turns out that the U.K. is actually full of free activities, destinations, events, and music, festivals, and more. And that’s what this book is all about: having a good time without spending a dime.

While thousands of tourists might spend the afternoon at the gates of Buckingham palace waiting for the changing of the guard, you could be in the know, doing 100% FREE, yet culturally rewarding, activities such as:
• Learn to write your name in Ogham, the earliest form of Irish
• Scottish parliament and debates
• A British Army museum formed in response to Napoleon
• First edition of Gulliver’s Travels in Northern Ireland’s oldest library
• Views from the second highest church tower in England
• Lunchtime recitals at a tiny medieval church
• Specimens from Captain James Cook’s voyages
• Free comedy night at local pubs
• Party at The City of London Festival
