The design is clever and durable and it's easy to clean.
The whisk is made in Poland and seems to be very well built. Hopefully it will last for years.
EDIT (5/27): The more I use this whisk, the more I love it. This is a MUST HAVE for any home baker.
The whisk (held close to the metal twists) really impressed me with the ability to completely combine wet and dry ingredients prior to kneading. Yes, I'd rather have a Kitchen Aid but this is far less expensive, and I don't mind kneading. Get your self one! I believe you'll enjoy it.
Very, very heavy duty wood and wire stand up to hard use. Once the water is added fully (best to work it in very slowly until most water is added, then when it gets doughy, add the rest) and stirring is more like mixing, you can use the whisk sideways so it cuts through the dough as it is all but impossible to "whisk" wet, heavy dough. At first, I thought it was not a good product because I tried to get all the way through the process using the technique I started with; i.e. "whisking" the dough, and figured that if it didn't do the entire process I could use a regular wire whisk to mix the dry ingredients and do the rest of the wet mixing by hand, but then I realized that once the dough becomes "dough", you just can't expect to be able to whisk it. Using a regular whisk wouldn't get you through the whole process, but this actually does; you just have to adjust the process as you go along with the mixing from dry flour to wet dough. A sideways cutting motion will continue to mix the dough and gets the ingredients nicely combined. I use a "no-knead" bread recipe, so there is no need (no pun intended... really) to try to knead the bread with this whisk. That would certainly be a fail for this item, but I can't see this being meant as a kneading tool anyway, so I think it really serves its purpose very well.
The price, usefulness and high quality of workmanship of the product make it a great deal.Read more ›
There are only two issues with this (for me). One is that I have are that the wood does start to irritate my hands during long mixing sessions. It's nice that this is natural and all but wood can get corrosive after some time, especially since the handle is pretty thick. The other one is that I would advocate possibly getting a smaller size. I didn't think about the size (so it's my fault) and naturally went for the biggest size for a few extra cents. I hope you get the right size because this really is a tool I began using plenty since I make a lot of dough. It doesn't work too well on liquid though or anything like that (if you are curious).
PROS: Easy to use, saves time, natural wood
CONS: Irritates hands due to wood, harder to wash wood than plastic, thick handle, the large size is way too large for me
Most of the cons are to be expected though, so I would have given this product five stars in a smaller size (and I would personally prefer plastic).
EDIT: I forgot to add that the stainless steel end is easy to clean, this works much better on light doughs than stiff ones (though it can do both) and that you may have to squeeze the dough into a ball with your hands at the end anyway (it does leave stiffer doughs slightly in scraps).

This whisk comes in quite handy for mixing dough for making bread. I scorn machines for making bread and do not use a mixer. This is quite effective and low tech. Read morePublished 1 month ago by William Kastern
