Great addition to my boots and have a new pair coming to be placed back on my boots
One comment about another review that suggested getting thorogood zippers.
The leather also started to crack pretty soon after I began using them.

I am a career firefighter and have gone through many differant boot zippers. These danner boot zippers are fairly durable however the people at Danner have never worn zippers in their boots for any real length of time. If they had they would know that good boot zippers all have a velcro strap at the top to keep the boots from coming unzipped. I have purchased at least three sets of these Danner zippers over the years and can safely tell you they are not worth the purchase price. They come unzipped constantly. The zipper pull tabs fall off and they are obviously way overpriced. Don't be fooled, the quality isn't any better and they aren't even engineered to stay zipped. Come on Danner, some people rely on your products to work well. You can do better at a more affordable price. I shouldnt have to hire someone to sew velcro onto 37.00 dollar boot zippers. Say goodbye to another repeat customer. I think I will re-evaluate what I am paying for Danner boots also.
Try Thorogood duty boot zippers. They are cheaper have a velcro strap and last just as long. I found them at The Fire Store priced between 13.00-19.00 depending on the model. They carry 7,8,10,11 eyelet models. Some of them are NFPA approved. Sorry I haven't compared the NFPA vs the non NFPA versions.

I agree with the other review. I purchased this about a year ago and have not been happy. The design is poor, the zippers are always sliding down, I find myself many times a day stopping to rezip the boots...as a result I've worn down the heel of the sole faster, because more often than not the boots are dragging, which in turn costs more money for resoling.

I also don't like the materials, both zipper pulls have ripped out, and were replaced with zip tie. The leather also started to crack pretty soon after I began using them.

Overall, unsatisfactory. I just ordered a pair of Thorogood zippers based on the other review.

great item, laced into my boots perfect. only concern i have now is the zippers becoming weak and unzipping on me, but it hasnt happened so maybe it wont. but besides that one design flaw this item makes my winter boots the quickest to wear, along with the most secure footwear i own. perfect addition to my boots

This is a vey poor quality to price product. Made of the cheapest materials, with poor fit & finish. Cheep plastic is used in the zipper teeth, which break easily & often. Yet are some of the most expensive to buy. Why is heavy duty brass zipper with good quality heavy thread not used in this product. This really is very poor.!!

I'm a reserve firefighter so when I'm on shift and we receive a call I need to be out of my station boots and into my bunker gear fast and these zippers make that so much easier than having to unlace my danners. Out of the box these zippers seemed sturdy and made with good quality. They do take a while to get them to the correct level of tightness, but once there they are good to go. I've had them on my boots for several months and they still work great. The only downside to these is a minor one, the zipper doesn't have anything to keep it from moving so it makes a rattling noise which can get kind of annoying, so I just put some medical tape on them and that solved the problem for me. But still I would say they are worth the price.

These were purchased because I had gone through about three pair in succession that broke the zipper coupling off in my hands when I put on my Danner fire dept boots to run EMS calls. I can't remember how many years I've been using them, and then these instances of getting out on a call with an expensive bedroom slipper on my foot. Danner sent me a pair once; other than that I was on my own. They seem to be holding up again...

Took a while to arrive but was exactly what I was wanting. Holes match up perfectly. I suggest watching a few YouTube videos to find your favorite laceing method. My first attempt loosened up within a couple of hours. Second attempt has held great. If your going to spend the money for Dinner boots, don't go cheap on the inserts. These are well worth the money.

Use these in my daily wear work boots. They last about 5 years before the zipper starts falling and won't stay up. For the amount I use them, can't really complain! Just glad it's an easily replaced product!
