That being said, I did not want to spend the money on the Acadia. It seemed too expensive. I am a paramedic and wanted something versatile, but made for my profession. So initially, I ordered the Danner Striker II to save money, and figured the zipper would make life easier. I ordered then the same size as my APB's which are an 8 EE. When they arrived, they just weren't the quality I was looking for. They were too large/long/wide compared to my other boots. Plus, most reviews on the boot and zipper system were negative. So, I returned them, which was easy with Amazon.
I had learned my lesson, so I ordered the Acadia. I ordered the same size as the APB's. Quality was spot on. Fit was howver, too large. My foot slid around in them and I had about a good inch of room left. So, once again, I sent them back to Amazon using the free return.
Made a other oder for 7.5 EE which were also too big. Returned for a 7EE.
Last night, the 7EE Acadia's arrived. I brotlught them with me to work today and laced em up. They truly fit let a glove. The airthotic inserts are great as well. Quality is top notch and I know these will last me as my other boots did.
If you work in EMS, law enforcement, or the like, I wouldn't think twice about these.
I know guys that have had the same boots for up to 8 years. They only need basic care and resoling every couple years.
Unfortunately, I got a defective left boot that had a bulge in a seam of the left boot that required me to return the boots. I plan on buying another pair.
Danner customer service is A+. Was not looking forward to shopping for new pair. Amazon/third party seller would only refund, not exchange. I contacted Danner about problem and even though I didn't buy directly from them, they were willing to back their product.
I emailed Danner and got a response within 12 hours with a customer #. I sent the boots in and 6 days later, got a replacement pair in the mail along with a pair of their $40 wool socks as a 'thank you for being a customer.'
The problems present in the old boots are not present in the new ones and I am excited to break them in.
It's wierd for as much as these boots cost - they don't come with insoles other than a Danner arch support insert. Highly recommend buying insoles for boots.
Cannot say enough about the pride Danner takes in their product as well as the service they are willing to provide in backing it up. Beware buying from middle man sellers at a discount, as it's a gamble whether or not they'll back their product. Fortunately, Danner is a stand-up American company.
The boots and the company are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I ordered these Danners and when they came in I put them on immediately. I noticed a difference as soon as I put them on. A bit snug around the foot and a little wiggle room around the heel. It was to be expected. I thought about getting insoles for them but had a pair of bates' insoles lying around and slid them inside. Oh man oh man, what a difference that made. My heel sits comfortably inside and my toes have a smal window of wiggle room. The boots have formed to my feet and they are as if I'm wearing sneakers to work.
They are extremely comfortable. When I wore my old boots I couldn't wait to get them off my feet when I got home. It's different with these Danners. When I get home I don't realize they're still on my feet. So, if you are or were like me wondering weather or not to drop upwards of $300+ on a pair of boots remember your feet and how much they work for you. The boots are an investment for your work and your life.
All these people saying they are uncomfortable don’t wear boots much, yes they come with a plastic insert but it forms to ankle to fit more comfortably than high dollar inserts.
According to Apple Watch a normal day at work today I went 9.14 miles so I majorly abuse my boots but they don’t slow down
