I have bad feet, an unstable right ankle, and an extremely unstable left ankle. I also wear a 14EE. I needed a boot that would help prevent further sprains and damage to my left ankle. I researched and decided on this boot due to it's overall stability (even though you'd never get me to repel more than ten feet and even that seems unlikely). There wasn't a place within 100 miles that carried this specialized boot, let alone one in my size, so I had to take a leap of faith and order them online. These boots fit right out of the box. They feel so stable that it is as if I have new ankles! I'm on my feet for six to ten hours a day and these boot feel so solid that wear shouldn't be a problem. Despite the weight, the energy transfer of the sole and shank make them feel almost athletic. I've had several brands of boots over the years and these boots are by far the best I've worn, both in comfort and in stability and overall quality. Awesome boots!

This size was too big for me, but perfect for a friend. He bought them from me and has been loving them. After a whole day (9am-4:30pm) of running and playing airsoft in these boots, he had no discomfort or blisters. He has been having lots of trouble with boots recently, but these seem to be great. Great ankle support. I'm super excited to get my pair in soon.

Ok, I ordered the boots yesterday and got them today, i'm impressed with the seller... ultra fast. Thank you.

As for the boot, they are Danners and they are hit or miss, so far i've worn them 3 hours and my feet are alot happier than the other day with my old shoes.

I'll update as time goes on about the boot.

I really like the boots. Fit great, very comfortable. Just what I expected from Danner. This is my first pair of Danners, but it won't be the last. The only thing I would change would be to put some kind of pull on straps on the sides. They are kinda hard to pull on because the laces don't loosen easily. But when your foot slides in these boots,,, They feel great on your foot. I wear a 9D, which is what I ordered, and they fit like a glove.

Like the others who have written reviews, I too have foot problems - although I am not an over-pronater. I have broken each of my ankles twice (work and sport) over the years and so was looking for good support from a high-cut boot as well as water resistance. I did a heap of research but found that I had limited choices. I did not want a black uniform boot as I am no longer in the police (retired). Nor did I want a desert tan boot as I am not in the army and, besides, the ones I have seen all end up looking shabby from dirt after a few months. I almost considered buying a pair of sage green air force boots, but then Danner released the canteen Descender. Funny thing is, the colour is neither all brown nor all green, yet is a mixture of both and therefore seems to fit in to most places one might wear a boot while hunting. The lower part of the boot is very comfortable, the upper is very supportive and they both work together to provide me with exactly what I was looking for in a boot.

It is a very good boot, but is it perfect? No. I have a wide foot and I bought the 2E fitting. Even so, I would probably have opted for a 3E if such a fitting was available as the Descender is made on a narrow last around the forefoot while being quite generous in the rear (which may allow the use of orthotics if you need them). The other downside is the absence of a side zipper and true speed lacing on the upper part of the boot. It means that your need to unlace most of the boot to put it on or take it off. One thing I did notice straight out of the box was that there was an excess of glue around some of the seams. This is a cosmetic issue, as I would rather have too much glue than not enough.

ive had these boots since mid july. stitching on both boots have been repaired by a shoe repairperson. i paid really good money hoping for a really good work boot as advertised. i hope all 100,000 plus UPS drivers stay away from these boots. spend your money elsewhere. these boots will not last. SHAME ON DANNER. YOU WONT BE GETTING ANY MORE MONEY FROM ME

I've had these boots for a year now and can say that they are definitely the best boots (next to my hiking boots) I've ever had on my feet. They take a little breaking in and are a little stiff when you first start wearing them, but after a little while they are like old friends and you know they won't let you down. It's been my experience that if you want a pair of boots that will be solid, rugged, comfortable, great support and fit after a year of use, you might have to put up with a tiny amount of discomfort when they are new. Otherwise they might be flimsy pieces of garbage and not last too long. I expect to be wearing these for a long time.

I have bought these to replace a pair of Danners that are about 6 years old that I wear at least 3 days a week if not more. Danner uses a very good last and construction is first rate. Not at all expensive for the service you get.
