They're extremely light- only 45 ounces (2 lbs 13 ounces) for the pair, which works out to 1 lb 6-1/2 ounces each- and surprisingly comfortable. They don't require any breaking in, either; just lace them up and head out. I bought them for warm weather hiking and hunting when wearing long pants, and I think they'll be excellent for that use. If you get a pair, I would suggest wearing thin wool socks or polypro socks to insure that perspiration moves through the boot instead of staying in your socks.
Danner also make a Gore-Tex (GTX) version of these boots, and if you plan on encountering rain or marshy conditions I've definitely go with those instead. But for dry, weather in very hot to mild conditions these the most comfortable boots I've yet found.
