Danny, Don't Do That! is pretty average really. It outlines a few worthy things kids can learn from not to do but since the book isn't written as a story they'll want to read over and over again it's not likely they'll remember any of the examples. There's also too much text to be used as signage on walls or something. Basically the book is simply a paragraph on each page where the narrator follows Danny a dim-witted male character, and tells the reader what he got up to. Such as swinging a baseball bat in the living room and breaking a lamp. Then an adult character will simply say "Danny, don't do that!" The lack of consequences for Danny's behaviour and bad parenting in that he is never disciplined mean he just gets up to more and more destructive behaviour with whoever sees him doing it simply saying Danny Don't Do That!

Possibly a wakeup call for parents reading this who parent with this sort of style to how the behaviour of the kid will just expand to ultimately it undertakes life threatening activities or the house is destroyed. A few scenarios kids themselves can learn not to do. But other than that the book doesn't have much going for it. The illustrations aren't even formatted properly and are very small squares on the pages.

My nephew is always getting into trouble and this is a wonderful book to teach children a lesson about safety. Danny gets into all kinds of situations and the author does an excellent job of showing children what not to do. Excellent illustrations enhance the quality of this very nice reading for kids. Get this book, the kids will enjoy and learn at the same time! Thumbs up! Recommended!

Perfect to read to your little one! It is both fun and informative! The book delivers a fun way of teaching the consequences to some behaviors and/or experiments your child may have a curiosity for. The illustrations are cute and made us chuckle.

Our favorite part was Danny trying to dig to China!

A recommended read!

"Danny, Don't Do That!" shined by talking about things not to do in fun ways. I also loved the fact that Danny was not only reminded not to do things by his family but by workers and people like the dentist as well. Cute book with cute illustrations.

"Danny, Don't Do That!" has been a wonderful way to share time on our computer with our Grandson and at the same time help in teaching about things that are unsafe for children. Brenda has done a wonderful job making learning fun and interesting for children. I would recommend this book to any Grandparent looking for ways of sharing time together with your Grandkids.

The book was ok. Instead of one coherent story with Danny doing things he shouldn't and learning from his mistakes, it is a bunch of couple sentence long snippets about what Danny did. It got really repetitive after a while.

Ridiculously funny Danny! I can now freely announce myself as a proud cohort of his, at least at the time of my own tiny winy childhood, especially the DVD Player part but with a piece of paper with my own name. HA!

I would say this is a good read for kids age from 5 to 10 years old. Kids at this age behave like a curious kitty and love to "try' different experiments. Read this with your kids or little bro/ sis, ask them how they feel and think about every "experiment". Guide them along and bear in mind the message of this book, "be curious, be careful".
