Heaven's Scenes

“Everyman” Don Pattern, using a special viewing device, looks down upon the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor from another realm, which he assumes to be “Heaven”. He can clearly see the events of the day. Pattern finds that things in this realm are very much as expected—the streets are paved with gold. Many things are as desired; such as the best oysters in the finest restaurants with no real bills to pay.
But many things about this realm are still challenging; above all, he still has not found the reason behind everything—the so-called WHY of existence itself. The enigmatic answer to everything, which no one can supply, is reputed to lie behind some mysterious big brass doors. Part historical fiction, and part religious, spiritual and philosophical inquiry, “Heaven's Scenes” asks many questions in the realm of doubt and belief.
