Dante was what every woman wants. A protector. A sexy one at that. Who wouldn't want someone to be there watching over you. Wanting to protect you from the nightmares that haunt you every night. Someone who wants you period.
Selina is a strong woman. Whom went through a tragic event that caused her to doubt her strength. But Dante helped her go through her pain and became strong again.
Now this is a paranormal but its different then more paranormal books. I highly recommend you check out Dante's Fire. Its a definite 5 star read. Hell it is a 10 star read.
If you're looking for a quick, can't put it down read, this book's for you!
One evening after coming back home alone, Selina is attacked and beaten up by thugs. A man all wearing a mask and dressed in black rescues her and very strange things happen, unbelievable things. But her knight in black armor brings her back home and takes care of her. What Selina doesn’t realise is that the two men in her life are one and the same.
Dante’s Fire is a paranormal romance, and it is fantastic! The genius of Ms. Probst shines through here again; it’s quite different but there are still wonderful characters of both sexes, a great story, clever dialogue, a great love story; and of course, it’s splendidly written!
What joy it is to see a character such as Dante: an alpha male, but tender, poised, and who even has a male friend, and a genuine friendship as well; that’s quite unusual in romances. Selina, even enduring some hardships remains cool-headed, logical; she doesn’t turn wimpy and whiny. The concept is very clever and original. I was very much looking forward to Dante’s Fire and it turned out even better than expected. It seems to be the beginning of a new series, and that is fabulous news indeed! A wonderful not-to-be-missed read! Could Jennifer Probst aspire to a paranormal crown? Stay tuned!
"Her gut screamed there was something so much deeper hidden within his piercing eyes...And then there was that scar. A chill skitted down her spine. She'd never asked what had happened to him, and he'd never offered. Most people averted their gaze pointedly - the jagged, deadly gash marked so deeply into his olive skin you could almost imagine the slice of the blade. Still, she believed it only added to his good looks. With his long dark hair that brushed his shoulders, sensual dark eyes and carved mouth, he was a rebel dream."
"Selina Rogers stared at the closed door and shook off the idea that Dan was more than a mailman."
Dante/Daniel is one smokin hot man! He rescues women by night as Dante and lays low in the mailroom by day as Daniel. He may have an exciting life, but he was living it alone. Can this superhero have his own happy ending?
Then there is Selina. A life in foster care after her parents' death; grown into a successful, proud, strong woman. "She may not have had anyone waiting in the wings to praise her, but knowing she baked the damn cake on her own without help made eating it all by herself that much sweeter." But she was doing it all alone.
They knew each other during the light; but one night their paths crossed in the dark.
"It was official. She'd been transported into a science fiction novel where villains were marked by mysterious burning symbols and strange men sat in her bedroom. She gave herself up to the night and the paths it took her."
And then everything changed. As Selina was being healed by the mysterious Dante she was falling in love with two men...the same man. But will Dante let himself take a chance on love?Read more ›
The book didn't offer me anything special and I thought the story had some rushed parts. I found weird that Dan was in love with Selina for two years and she was a tad attracted to him, but later in the book she falls almost immediately in love with Dante.
Unfortunately, this novella didn't work out 100% for me. Still, I cannot make myself give the book less than three stars because despite all the things I didn't like or didn't work for me, there were some parts that I liked/loved.
It would be comforting to know that someone like Dante exist in real life. For Saline I have mixed feelings. I don't like it when she was forgetting the whole I am attracted to two different males and I should come clean about it part. The kind of story line where there is a triangle that really isn't reminds me of M. Leighton's book Down to you.
I will be waiting for more in the next novella.
