About the Author
L.A. SARTOR was born in Germany and was very lucky to be adopted by an American couple. They lived in Germany for several years, then moved to California and later Colorado. Her parents encouraged her to be creative and nurtured her “Lessie do it” attitude. She started writing around the age of 4 when she dictated stories to her mother, who patiently wrote them down while L.A. illustrated them. (She generously describes the scribbles she made as “illustrations.”) After college she moved to Los Angeles but was lured back to Colorado with the promise of managing a new business. There she worked for many years alongside her mother, designing and crafting beautiful jewelry. The women were chosen by the University of Colorado to create their Ceremonial Mace and Presidential Chain of Office, a wonderful legacy. L.A. lives in Colorado with her husband, whom she met on a blind date—she can't imagine life without her best friend. She plays in the mountains and travels as much as possible. Now it’s L.A.'s desire to move onward in her writing career and create stories that translate into adventures on the page with her novels and magic on the screen with her screenplays.

A Romantic Suspense
"Dare to Believe" is a daring adventure into a new world of fictional freedom. L.A. Sartor uses her creative freedom to write a very unpredictable and fascinating nail-biting novel. The story starts out as a potential romantic crime/mystery as the heroine's daughter goes missing. It then becomes a suspense/thriller when the evidence strongly supports a kidnapping. Soon the narrative moves to beautiful Hawaii where most of the story takes place.
Once in the islands the action intensifies and some traces of being a police procedural appear. Eventually, the story becomes a legal/thriller. With all these twists and turns one thing remains constant: the romance developing between the hero and heroine. This relationship, once thought to be hopeless, moves towards becoming a reality -- if only the mystery can be solved and justice found.
A story like "Dare to Believe" is one of the best justifications for an Indie Press and the freedom to create the kind of interesting reading experiences that are almost impossible to find in the traditional press. A Traditional publisher would ask, "Where does this book get displayed on bookstore shelves? We can't market books with this much freedom." An Indie publisher can publish books like this. And readers benefit. If you are going to read an Indie Press novel, then I believe this is the type of book to read.
Rest assured, "Dare to Believe" is edited as well as any big publisher I have read. I found no mistakes in the book. Of course, what I believe makes the book so much fun to read is that it is fresh and unpredictable. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I look forward to see what this very talented author comes up with next.
If you are interested in Hawaii, as I am, you'll be glad to know that the author has lived in Hawaii, loves it, and spends a major part of the book in this beautiful land.
For a great read and to experience one of the best of the new books coming from the Indie Presses, "Dare to Believe" is a great place to start.
Because Life Doesn't Unfold According to Traditional Publishing Guidelines, Indie Press Books Can Be More Lifelike and Realistically Enjoyable!
From here we go on a journey to find out what happened to her daughter. Helping her is the only man she has ever loved but walked away from and married his partner.
Jason St. Pierre never got over the shock of Catherine turning down his marriage proposal due to their conflict of having kids (him wanting them her not) but then runs into the arms of his business partner and marries and has a kid with him. It has been hard watching her all these years with another man having what they should have had together. He doesn't think he will ever be able to forgive her. But when he finds her running down the road screaming he cant help but to get involved and when he finds out that it is her daughter that is missing, some one he has come to care about, he goes all in on the search.
It turns out this wasn't your typical kidnapping and there are betrayals from many they both thought were friends. The search ends up in Hawaii where the author did a great job of describing the lifestyle and location.
There are many twist and turns in this book and seems nothing that Jason and Catherine thought about the last 7 years was the truth.
Ever pragmatic, Cate makes arrangements to move, secures a new job and when the movers come to load up furniture, she's preoccupied just enough not to realize her scamp of a daughter has wandered off. Soon Cate's worry turns to terror as Haley is no where to be found.
As every parent's nightmare surfaces, Cate scrambles to stop the moving van, thinking Haley is hiding inside, when Jason St. Claire skids to a halt at the sight of the woman he has a tragic history with.
Jason shouldn't help Cate, she walked out on him, afterall, and ended up with his business partner. But help Cate Jason does, first one for the sake of Haley, then because much to his dismay, he still has deep feelings for Cate.
Ms. Sartor takes the reader on an adventure not only in the beautiful state of Colorado, where secrets and the mystery unfolds as to who kidnapped Haley. From there Ms. Sartor takes us to the great state of Hawaii. Here, the mystery further unravels as well as the author's great understanding of the Aloha State.
Love, Mystery and Emotion, L.A. Sartor covers it all. A perfect romance with mystery elements readers will want to curl up and enjoy. I look forward to more of this author's books.
Looking forward to reading new works by L.A. Sartor.
