Review

"Collette Scott has the ability to paint characters so real as to draw you into their lives. Not an easy book to put down once picked up."
- Lord David Prosser, author of The Queen's Envoy.

"Collette's emotionally charged fiction transports the reader so completely into her character's lives it is easy to become engrossed."
- Roxanne Smolen, author of Mindbender

"If We Dare to Dream is captivating! Collette Scott delivers an emotional roller coaster ride of love, anger, guilt and suspense.... Addictive to the very end!"
- KC Stone, author of Replaced by a Stranger.

"Collette has done it again!... Collette writes so well that you can visualise what is happening in your head, as though seeing the action on TV or in a film, but better! I feel so privileged at being allowed to read this book before it has even officially been published."

Collette Scott has written an awesome story of two individuals dealing with misfortunes in life. Jamie, recently divorced, returns home for the support and security of four brothers. Andrew, an Iraq war veteran, returns home with scars and post traumatic syndrome. He is let down by his fellow Americans who too quickly believe him to be the guilty person who murdered a woman he briefly met in a bar. This is a realistic story told with much compassion and warmth. At times it is heart wrenching, but finally, love mends all. A good read!

This is book I in the Evans saga. It follows Jamie, the youngest and only girl in a family of five. A chance encounter with someone will change everyone's life forever. It's hard to imagine that just a small act of kindness or a short conversation can be someone's saving grace.
Jamie very briefly meets a man at a bar on her last night in town. She's headed out the next morning to begin her new life. He will be charged with murder the next day.

Collette Scott delivered another great book. This is her third book and I enjoyed it as much as the first two. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I'll try to be vague. The main characters were fun and easy to like and relate to. The story flowed very smoothly and while I knew almost from the beginning who the murder was, it didn't detract from the book at all. In fact, I'm not even sure it was supposed to be a secret. The main part of the book for me was not trying to figure out who the killer was, but watching how the characters dealt with the issues they were handed.
It was a great book and I can't wait to read the next book in the saga, due February 2012.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest review.

So I started this book unsure of what to expect as I have tried several new authors and have been disappointed. Even with some well known authors, I have literally stopped reading before even finishing the book. I am really picky when it comes to what I read because I write as well. I always look for a book with a good flow and well defined, real characters that draw you into the story. This book did just that! It was a great book all the way around and I look forward to the next one in the series. If you are wanting to try out a new author, this book is well worth the money, at only $2.99 there is not much to lose and so much to gain.

This book is very well written with good highs and lows in emotional detail. I could understand everything that was said as if I were having a conversation with the author. The story was riveting and the characters very likeable. I like to read a book with a lot of dialogue and this one has just what I like. The description of the characters makes it possible for the reader to picture them in their minds. I love happy endings and this book did not disappoint me.

This was a gift to me to read and I am glad I read it. It is a story of love between a family and love between another family . Two families one torn apart by war and other things and another family held together by love for each other. Jamie Evans has 4 brothers who are over protective of her but are they. She is getting married to a man they don't like, of course they never liked any of her boyfriends. Anyway she goes out with her two best friends one last time. An incident occurs that leaves a mark in Jamie's mind for some reason. And further the murder of Kit another lady at the bar that night and circumstances no one could predict Andrew Sheehan was convicted of murder. Years later after Jamies marriage fails and she is back home she sees a true story on tv regarding Kits murder and as she thinks about it she knows Andrew is not guilty. Ends up proving it too. Then the Evans family takes Andrew into their fold and before long Jamie and Andrew are beginning to fall in love. Her brothers believe in Andrew as well and the rough shell of Andrew is beginning to crack between his bad childhood, his PTSD, and the prison time for a murder he did not commit he had lost hope. But Jamie gave it back to him. Andrews brother Adam reenters the scene and over a period of time Andrew begins to fear something is really wrong with his brother but can't quite figure out how to help. It is a suspense story and as the reader I was not expecting the real problem with Adam. For some reason the story grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down. Suspense, drama, and a beautiful love story. I cannot wait for the Evans Family Book 2.

Collette has done a gem of a job of storytelling with characters I cared and thought about, even when I wasn't reading. It's been said that "emotional content" is the key to art -- If we dare to dream has plenty. Good job Collette!

The book started to slow for me. I actually skipped/skimmed the first handful of chapters and was able to follow the story from that point on with little problem. The second half of the book was well worth the read. The storyline progressed at the right pace and there were times you just couldn't help but think "I hope this isn't going where I think it is." The poor hero of this story went through way to much! he was def the type you wanted to help and fall in love with! The heroine was someone you wanted on your side and as your friend. I have other books in this series on my wish list and hope that they start better than this. If it had the power of the middle and end all the way through it would have been a 5. I mean, it's months after I read this and I remember what I loved about it enough to review it now!
