The main female character, Hannah Richardson is not interested in finding a husband or settling down anytime soon. Hannah is looking to have a good time and enjoy life day by day.
The main male character, Camden Darkin, is super handsome, tall, dark, and oh yea he’s a Duke, and a spy! He, like Hannah is also not interested in marrying or getting tied down. Even though many women seem to be throwing themselves at him, but he is none the least impressed or interested in something long term.
However, everything completely changes when these two meet. It is quite funny that the two people who are totally set on not getting into a relationship actually want everything they say they didn’t – with each other.
Although, this story isn’t a totally new concept, I did find this book to be extremely entertaining and a joy to read!
Besides the strong love story plot there is also a murder mystery plot. I love a good love story, but a murder mystery just added another level and dimension to the story – plus an extra star in this review. The crazy dangerous adventure scenes made the passion between the two main characters even more intense and on fire.
There is something to be said when you meet that special someone and everything changes. Things you may not know you wanted or things you never thought were possible until you find that “one.” I think most people will be able to understand and relate to this.
This book is a true love story that shows you often find love when you are least looking for it.
I think some people will be able to relate to Hannah and others, like me, will totally develop crushes on Camden. Yes, he has totally been added to my list of book boyfriend’s lol!
All in all, I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, but fun, fast-paced, and entertaining read! I know I will also be looking into the other books in this book series and other books by Debra!

"Dare to Love a Spy" by Debra Elizabeth is part of the ‘Age of Innocence’ series. The story centers around Camden Darkin, the Duke of Wetherby, as he is trying to discover who is killing his agents, and Hannah Richardson, a somewhat headstrong young miss enjoying her first Season, thanks to her aunt and uncle. The two main characters continue to cross paths under suspicious circumstances but their undeniable attraction builds and threatens to disrupt not only Camden’s investigation but also his peace of mind. Unfortunately, the danger increases as well, and their romance may have to end before it can even begin.
This romantic suspense tale is set in historical England and provides a glimpse of the network in place to keep the Crown safe, contrasted with the glittery world of the aristocrats as they maneuver to ensure their succession. The hint of danger provides an exciting element to the story and it is fun to see the dual roles many of the characters play, although it would have been nice to see more of their background in the network. I wish there was a bit more depth to the hero and heroine as I didn’t feel a strong connection to them, and wasn’t sure I was convinced of their suitability, although I did enjoy watching the heat build between them. She seems a little too naïve and sheltered to match his worldliness and knowledge, and her inability to keep her curiosity in check would seem to be a terrible liability. This story provides cameo appearances by characters who starred earlier in the series, but it stands alone just fine. I think this is an entertaining light read that will be enjoyed by fans of historical romance who like a hint of danger in their stories.

The story involves spies, royalty, and romance — all things I love. Camden, the Duke of Wetherby, is a spy for his government. When his close friend and fellow spy is murdered, he has to ferret out the killer without getting killed himself. Hannah has just come out for her first season on the marriage mart, but she really doesn't want to get married. Until, of course, she meets the sexy duke.
Though there's an undeniable attraction from the start, Camden resists Hannah because of his dangerous occupation. She can't understand how he can kiss her and then run away, but being a spunky girl (my favorite kind!), she keeps trying to solve the mystery that is the duke. I liked how she was nosy and kept trailing Camden out of ballrooms to find out why he followed other women into shadowy gardens (his job, of course). Her innocent, if fervent, curiosity made her all the more endearing. I also felt for Camden, who struggled with his desire for a normal life and love while pursuing a killer.
All in all, Dare to Love a Spy is a charming love story with an intriguing mystery to boot, and I recommend it to any fans of historical romance.
I loved the heroine’s independent spirit. Hannah is the perfect foil for the steel-hearted Camden. In the true mold of the British spy...his work comes first and leaves him little time for love. Fortunately, for him, Hannah in tenacious when she wants something.
A very well-written book, I highly recommend it for those who love a witty, fast-paced Regency romance.
