A contemporary romance, the story opens with Evie experiencing another frightful dream. Wanting to find a sense of balance, Evie goes for an early morning run and encounters Brady, bird watching. Smitten, Brady asks her to a dance. Evie decides to take a chance. Their attraction grows, but when her ex-husband threatens their happens, can Evie trust Brady?
James' plot will have the reader on the edge of their seat as the suspense heightens throughout the novel. Her writing style is crisp and easy to read. The descriptions are just perfect, allowing the reader to visualize the scenes without bogging down the story. The dialogue adds an authentic touch to the characters.
The characterization is the best part of the story. Evie is a wounded heroine, determined to pick herself up again and make a life for herself. Brady is a true hero, embodying a sense of fair play, patience, and steadfastness. Since he's a former Marine, he knows how to take care of the heroine.
The story is sophisticated for romance readers with a love scene that is sensual and tasteful to readers. "Someone to Trust" is a story filled with suspense, romance, and hope that will have readers anxiously turning the pages for the end. I highly recommend it.
