Newly Mastered in HD from a 4K scan! Considered by most to be one of the best, if not the best serials of all time. Three circus stuntmen track down a ruthless madman known as 39-0-13 (Charles Middleton, Emperor Ming of Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe), bent on destroying the wealth and integrity of his former employer, multi-millionaire Horace Granville (Miles Mander, Murder, My Sweet). 39-0-13 kidnaps and imprisons Granville, impersonating him in order to facilitate his deeds of destruction. Cy Feur s (Dick Tracy vs. Crime Inc.) pulse-pounding score sharply accentuates the crisp direction of William Witney (Sunset in the West) and John English (Adventures of Captain Marvel). Chapter One s cliffhanger an underground tunnel flooded by a massive mountain of torrential water is a classic! Starring serial star Charles Quigley (The Crimson Ghost), Bruce Bennett (Dark Passage) and the beautiful Carole Landis (I Wake Up Screaming).

If any body from Kino-Lohrer is reading this, there are tons of serial ans out there who have been hoping for legitimate release of some of the serials from Republic, Universal and Columbia, nicely remastered the way you did on DAREDEVILS OF THE RED CRCLE. And if you find the trailer for some of these titles, include them.
I have certain titles I would love to have, one of them THE SPIDER'S WEB from 1938. One of the few REALLY GOOD ones that Columbia produced. So many fans have hoped for a really decent video of this one.
Think it over. As for now, your remaster of DAREDEVILS OF THE RED CIRCLE is a joy. I'm watching it one chapter every couple of days. Even though I almost know the serial by heart...and actually have the script for it...it is still an exciting adventure with three top heroes and one marvelously evil villain...Charles Middle, best known as 'Ming The Merciless' from the FLASH GORDON serials. The ending of chapter 1 is enough to give an audience fits...and when it was originally released, the audience had to wait 1 week before they found out what happened.
Fetchit look like James Earl Jones. Fortunately this is a minor part of the proceedings. The series has an ingenious and highly satisfactory wrap-up of 39013's nefarious machinations. If you get only one serial this is the one to have.
The 2017 blu-ray release of Daredevils is beautiful to look at and listen to. After years of watching copies of copies of copies of serials that were too bright, too dark, or scratched to pieces I was amazed to learn it didn't have to be that way. You CAN find early enough versions to make great HD scans.
I'm fortunate also that despite being a collector, somehow I'd never seen Daredevils. So this blu-ray was my first viewing.
And more thanks to KL for leaving the credits intact: opening and closing. Not every distributor does, but it completes the theatre experience.
My only (minor) complaint: In the blu-ray's Chapter menu the image for Chapter One is it's title card - The Monstrous Plot. This makes perfect sense, but Chapters 2 through 12 show character re-cap cards instead, with our heroes barely represented. A minor quibble, but chapter titles would also help to find a particular chapter, which is the point, right?
Please continue the wonderful work KL.
Great audio commentary from film historian Michael Schlesinger, which can be heard only on Chapters One, Four, Nine and Twelve.
Carole Landis is drop dead gorgeous. Plenty of action and lots of excitement. Their dog Tuffie puts on a magnificent performance saving the day on several occasions. Twelve heart-pounding chapters with some of the best cliffhangers in Republic's history.
The details revealed in this new 4K transfer on Blu-ray are genuinely eye-popping. Excellent special effects even by today's standards.
(There is little point in asking questions for a review anymore. Shockingly, Amazon has discontinued informing reviewers when someone makes a comment.)
The story is well done, the acting is above average, the effects are top notch. I sat and binged all 12 chapters in a row.
I'll admit I'd never heard of his one, but since I've been buying all the serials, I gambled on it. Im glad I did. Even if you're not a fan of the genre, there's a good chance you'll still enjoy this.
This is just a story of normal people. No superheroes. No comic strip element. And yet, it's better than most. Thats a result of the entertaining story and quality acting and effects.
