Storage is easy to use, feels study and secure. Thanks to the top lid it allows all to be stored on top of eachother neatly. Highly recommended!
My current project has 30 different colors, with several colors not fitting in a single mini container. When I first started Diamond Painting, I was using a plastic storage container with strips of 4 attached mini containers, with a max storage capacity of 28, meaning that I would have needed to use 2 of those plastic containers for my current project.
I also really like the fact that with the Elizabeth Ward Bead Storage Solution, I can take out just the color that I need, making it less likely to confuse colors close in shade when having to use a strip of 4 mini containers.
Easy to label as well.
The stickers help me identify type, size, price and source for each stone, bead or finding.
These are my absolute go-to!!
The Trays: The white clips on each side of the tray have held up perfectly. However, these clips are the most vulnerable part of each tray, and have broken off after I have accidentally banged into the side of a tray; none of these white “clips” have just broken off from regular use. Only three “clips” have broken off in three years. And today, none of them are showing signs of wear or malfunctioning. If a clip does just break off or the tray arrives damaged, the tray is defective and Amazon will replace it if you return the tray to them AND send the defective tray back to them (Amazon sends you a return label that covers the return postage).
The Plastic Boxes: No matter the size, all the boxes perform as well as or better than the day I received them. None of the lids have broken off or failed to securely house any bead regardless of bead weight or size. I have found that approximately 5% of all the medium-sized and 5% of all the large-sized boxes are more difficult to open and close and require more effort to open safely than my strong hands can manage. I have resorted to opening the few more difficult boxes with my teeth, however, over time and usage they now open reasonably using only my hands. I mention this for those whose hands give them grief, or reasonably balk at the idea of using their teeth.
The Labels: I place the labels upside down on the white lids, so the cutout shape of the label does not match the shape. It fits fine, and does not obscure my view into the clear bottom of the box. Since I have so many containers of beads, I found over time I preferred using the labels made for the boxes over creating my own (Cutting and pasting copies of labels, lasted two months). Remember, it is about what works for you.
Also, some labels stick well and some don’t, whether they are placed on the top or bottom of the boxes (e.g., occasionally when I have more than vendor of the same bead, or combine the same model/brand of clasp but one is silver and the other gold, I’ll place a label on the top and bottom of the box - this helps me esp. when there is a difference in price between vendors, or to save space).
My last “batch” of supplemental labels ALL curled up requiring clear tape to keep them down. This was an atypical experience, normally there is no rhyme or reason to which labels adhere well and which do not. Overall, about 70% of labels used adhere well, and the others have needed a little tape at the corner(s) or edge(s). If labels stick well a the outset, they remain stuck over time and vice versa.
I use the finest Ball Point pen tip to write info on the labels - it will not smear, and will remain legible over time. One can use word processor software to set custom parameters to print info on the labels - after one very successful stab at this, I found this was too much work/hassle For Me.
I quickly began using commonly used abbreviations in my bead descriptions. I use them consistently and have no trouble listing the quantity, make, size, shape, color, price per gram or unit, vendor on the labels. I write small, but abbreviations and consistency are the key to success. If writing small is too much of a chore, I know many who number or color code their labels, which then refer to a description/index that provides an abbreviated description of what is contained I each box.
Thank You So Much to the reviewers who shared their experiences and organization systems in these reviews - you gave me choices and helped me to decide what would work best for me!

I knew I would like it, so I bought 3 of the 82-piece and 3 of the 45-piece Darice Elizabeth Ward bead storage trays. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and will definitely be buying more. The package arrived very quickly, but FYI it was very heavy having all 6 in the same box. My poor mailman could barely carry it, so you might want to buy just 3 at a time because they could refuse to carry such a heavy package.
After making jewelry for almost 20 years, I've learned that it's important to have completely TRANSPARENT (not just "clear") storage early on, and you need to be able to remove each container individually. You need a system where you can put it in front of you and see the colours/shapes without needing to remove any of the contents and so you can take the bare minimum with you on the road. It's also wonderful that there's room for me to label each container with the brand, price, shade, etc. without hiding the contents. It's very hard to do that with tackle boxes and other organizers where you can't remove any section. The labels it comes with are handy for basic information. If you need to write a lot of information, I highly recommend using a label maker (mine is Brother PT400 and is perfect for this use). For reference: I can comfortably fit approximately 150- 200 4mm glass crystal beads per tiny container. Even though the containers are so small, they fit a lot. There is much less wasted space than other craft organizers. For those of you who use sequins: you can easily fit at least one entire package of sequins in each tiny container. Also, when you consider that the 82-piece system comes with 78 containers, it's not actually as expensive as it sounds. You would easily spend that much if not more per bead vial without the whole system.
If I had to write a possible disadvantage: some people will find it difficult to open these containers. You shouldn't try opening it on your own because you'll probably break a nail or simply won't be able to open it. I use needle nose pliers to open the lid, and this method works well for me each time. However, I wouldn't recommend filling the containers to the brim because that makes it difficult to open even with pliers. Since I realized I could use pliers to open the containers, this isn't a disadvantage for me because that's what makes the containers so sturdy! I've opened and closed a few containers multiple times, and they still snap firmly shut. Most other bead containers open way too easily and usually not when you want it to, causing beads to spill everywhere. If you've ever used a pill box type container to store beads and dropped it, you know how they fly everywhere and are a pain to clean up. I doubt this will be a problem with these containers. I've noticed some reviewers complaining that it's difficult to open the containers, so if that's the case, just have your pliers handy and lift up the lid with just one end of the pliers. It's super easy to open if you use that method. 5 star product & 5 star delivery to Canada! Highly recommended for any crafter that uses lots of small items like beads, findings, buttons, and sequins.
