I'm not real familiar with what gauge wire is best for what, I just bought this one and hoped it would work out. I used this for random things while decorating for Christmas, like putting two teardrop swags together to make one piece (photo) and to attach picks to wreaths and garlands.
The good part is I got a lot of wire and it is flexible. There's no bad side, just didn't have a lot of confidence that this would be sturdy enough. So far it's fine, but I probably would have chosen a slightly stiffer wire if I knew what it was going to feel like. With this one, I just doubled back with the wire so essentially I used more to make it sturdy.

Multi-Use Wire
