I had some complaints about the book. Julian is supposed to be the greatest spy in Europe with masterful deeds aplenty under his spy nom-de-plume. For such a master spy, he ends up in trouble a lot and gets found out pretty easily by the h and her cousin separately after many years of eluding everyone, including Liselle's family. Also, I have to confess that I found it silly and unbelievable that so many Venetian assassins ended up in Scotland all at the same time with no explanation really being given. At one count, I was up to over twenty Venetian assassins running around Scotland for goodness only knows what reasons, when only a few were necessary to the actual jobs-assassinations--planned. I found myself wondering how many assassins could there possibly be left in Venice!
There were places where it dragged a little and some of the h's dialogue and descriptions of her were repetitive and bland.
But overall, a good story and makes you want to read on to the next in the series.
Hero meets heroine in such an interesting manner, and from there I was hooked. I has to see just how the boy wins over the girl. If you enjoy Historical or Highland Romance this is a good book for you. I refuse to go into detail because I hate, hate, hate spoilers but this is a quick and easy must read.
I so suggest reading the books in this series in order as the stories are more enjoyable that way.
