Instead of being "heavy", Peter Wunstorf breaks the piece up into more manageable pieces. These pieces are all incredibly emotionally potent yet concise. With such a topic, honesty is key and the introspective tone of the book makes each note seem true to life and real.
Due to the nature of the issues and the rawness of the text it is not an emotionally easy piece to digest, but the style and form makes it an incredibly rewarding read.
As I read this book, I realized that I felt the same as the author did in many different points. By realizing this, I felt more at ease and felt like I could relate in more ways than one to the author. It's a beautiful and touching account of the ways in which anxiety and depression can either ruin or change your life for the better.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. Just by reading this, you have the ability to change your life and feel better about yourself :) I'm glad I had the opportunity to stumble upon this book.
This is simply brilliant! It's artistic! It's well written! The short chapters were easy to grasp and reading the entire book was not complicated despite the intense emotions portrayed. It's a point of view that most experts don't include in their books. It's a must read! Anxiety and depression or not, you have to read this book.
Peter brings the observer into his world. His actions don't always make sense to himself, let alone others around him. He goes through the steps, from recognition not just of his depression and anxiety, but that suffered by his father.
Peter illuminates his struggles, relapses, and EVERYTHING he tried to reach a resolution. His determination is exemplary and his advice to other priceless. A very good read.
Enjoyable read for those who might have a family member or know of someone suffering in this way. It will help you understand what they might be going through and to know that they are not alone.
