This story showed we have Natalie and Trent, who meet up four years ago for a little elicited fun at a concert. Fast forward 4 years and Natalie has landed a dream scholarship to a dream design school in NYC. She gets a room to rent from a former model and all her dreams are coming true. That is until she bumps into Trent. The man who gave her and incredible orgasm at a concert four years ago and then disappeared. She has held this man to such high standards that no man can ever compare. When she meets him she is shocked and excite. Trent goes out of his way to whoa Natalie, really wining and dining her. Until Natalie realizes, after giving up her virginity to him, that he has been manipulating her life to lead her back to him.
The characters are kind of week, and you definitely get the sense that it cheesy romantics, but under it all Trent is supposed to be a dormant who likes rough. Sex, while Natalie is niece and innocent in so many ways. The story is kind of slow, and makes you hope that the other parts of this series will pick up the pace.
It not a bad read, if you need something to read to kill and hour or so of your time.
A chance encounter at a concert brought Natalie to Tanner's attention. He was so taken by her beauty, innocence and down to earth appeal that he just had to meet her. Pretty soon, desire was too powerful to control ... but life and reality exerted its power and the moment was lost. What ensues after this meeting is a story you will not soon forget.
Masterfully written, we the readers are given the gift of Natalie's journey to fulfill her dreams and along the way, reunite with Tanner. New York is the place to fulfill her dreams as fashion designer. With her newly accepted scholarship, she is ecstatic to be studying there. Finally she feels her dreams will become her reality! And then she meets Tanner at what appears to be a chance meeting ... and the rest of the story you have to read for yourself. Hot, exciting, endearing and emotional are but a few words to describe Natalie and Tanner's relationship.
This review is for the first three installments of the Touched by You series. I was not able to put this down once I started reading this series. I just took a time out to share my excitement with you readers. I am so hooked on this story! Tanner is luscious and always in control. Unable to commit or feel love, he thinks. He is so taken by Natalie to the point of obsession. Natalie is not far behind, except she is all love and innocence offering him with her gift of deep love, passion, and understanding.
So what are you waiting for?
It wasn't my intention to even compare these characters or think about them during my readings. I generally enjoy the romantic millionaire boyfriend fantasy. What broke, middle class woman doesn't? However, Tanner's consistent, "I'm no good for you," and "stay away from me," demeanor makes it tricky to forget our Seattle lover boy.
The fact that this books runs on for eight different books is a bit much for me. 50 Shades was three books long and I was over it after book two. The climax of this story seems a bit rushed and the character development seems a bit long winded. I liked the concept and the four year gap. I thought that was clever and original.
I would recommend this book to people who like erotica and BDSM because from the beginning you can tell that's were it's going. It's hot, it's heavy and its a distraction from the "real world" where Tanners and Christians don't exists for people like me.
"He was solid, like beautiful, smooth stone. His skin was pale against his dark hair, and even in the low restaurant lights, she could see the shimmery auburn highlights causing the light to glitter off him. Yes, glitter, she thought. He glittered."
Um, yeah. That's when I knew for sure I was done.
It was mysterious and sexy at first (Natalie and Tanner meet at a concert and have a seriously HOT moment)...and then poof...four years pass, she is a student living in New York and she runs into him and he is (surprise!) a billionaire.
I won't go into the obvious similarities between this book and FSOG...but they are there, but in (so far) a much milder form. But short of signing a contract, there is so much that looks and sounds the same plot-wise, that it was nothing original for me.
It was written in a way to entertain and moved along quickly, but I wouldn't buy all the rest of the books in the series (way too many and at 2.99 each!). A good start and an ok erotic read...just wish it had been a complete book in one and not going to be dragged out.
**** 3.5 **** "so we meet again" stars
I couldn't help it
There is so much emotional intensity crammed into these lines that it sucked the air out of me
and I need more of that breathless feeling.
The only problem I had was that the character POVs switched without any warning and that momentarily threw me off on many occasions
