This book tells a love story across time, but it's not about sparkly or egotistical vampires like so many other typical vampire novels. Don't get me wrong, it was dark and could be brooding at times, but I couldn't put this book down. The characters were fascinating and had great depth. It's not so much a story about vampires as it is about a love story that happens to include vampires.
The author's writing style was good enough, but I'm always surprised at the use of negative words (smirk, sneer, scoff) in a context which, to me, calls for gentler
terms. Perhaps the use of a thesaurus could expand the author's choice of vocabulary. I'm an older person and how words are selected and used to convey meaning to me separates the good from the better and the best writers. Thanks for the chance to read this episode and keep on writing!!!
It's obvious the glowing reviews of the audio book are written by the authors family, friends or diehard fans.
And there are very few of them.
Some authors such as Neil Gaiman are wonderful at reading their own books. This one is not.
I wish I could have given 2-1/2 stars.
